    Very overpriced for the size of cottage. unacceptable wait to get in.
    lovely setting
    Arrived at the gate and called Nicolas to open as promised. no answer on 3 calls. 20 minutes later, somebody. Small cottage poorly maintained- had to wedge a piece of wood against the fireplace to keep it closed because metal lock had come off. not enough firewood.

    This is our second time at Umami Mountain Retreat. We had an amazing time and we will be back very soon.
    The most tranquil location, beautifully decorated and comfortable home and the dam is so wonderful to swim in.

    Wonderful peaceful location in the mountains
    For the price we would have expected just a little more. There were no fans in the bedrooms or living area ( ceiling Fan) No dishwasher as was expected Mattress was uncomfortable - with just a little bit more this could have be a fantastic place The cottage is modern and beautifully decorated Maybe staying for 10 nights showed up some of the issues for a longer stay as opposed to a couple of nights over a weekend

    Hidden jewel in Franschhoek
    We loved everything about our accommodation.
    Would be nice to have more than 2 chairs to sit outside on the stoep of the Mountain Lodge. Would also be great to have an outdoor table and chairs for having meals outside.

    Property is beautiful, great view
    Water pressure was very inconsistent, leading to it running hot and cold as we were trying to shower. Owners reaction to this and other issues was somewhat disinterested, a bit of a "well that is strange" without a solution being offered.
