    We had a fabulous three days together as a family; the grandkids spent most of the day in the pool.
    Perfect for a get-together of family or friends, sleeps 8-10 people. All the facilities were great, especially the swimming pool, outside areas, main bedroom and the lounges.
    Two small negatives, both minor ones. The absence of aircon in the bedrooms, but the fans helped and it wasnt too hot (31C). May be an issue when it is really hot. The second was the lighting in the kitchen was a bit inadequate.

    Beautiful country house for a relaxing stay
    The house is beautiful and spacious and it suited our group of eight people (adults and children) perfectly. It has a great swimming pool and offers gorgeous views of the mountains. Everything is nicely organised and makes it easy to find everything you need during your stay. The host was prompt with communication and very helpful with recommendations for things to do/ places to see and we were welcomed with a delicious cake and drinks. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Verdun House.
    It worked well for us as we were two families and one friend but one thing to note is that apart from one room, the others are interconnecting rooms so you'll need to walk through a room to get to the next unless you access it from outside.

    We had the best stay. Perfect venue and welcome
    It was both (very) stylish and comfortable. Great for families. Ann and her manager Albert gave us an excellent welcome and were happy to accommodate all our requests. Horses and dogs on the premises were the icing on the cake. along with a real chocolate cake, champers and roses when we arrived. Id highly recommend this place and we will certainly go back. Thank you Ann
    Not much I didnt like but a small comfort addition would be offering mirrors in bedrooms ( near plugs) for drying hair!

    Stunning house set in a beautiful location offering everything you would wish for a perfect stay
    Beautiful property with wonderful views of Franschoek valley. The house was immaculate and superbly equipped with everything we could possibly have needed. The owners were extremely accommodating and responsive to queries and requests.

    A great place to enjoy with your (larger) family during your stay in Franschhoek.
    Beautifully situated, in a secure estate (not that Franschhoek is a dangerous place), nice pool, beautiful garden, many bedrooms, which in our case was important. Overall very comfortable. And even more importantly, exceptionally nice, very responsive, and accommodating owner.
    We knew about it ahead of time, so we dont really count it as a negative, but it is still worth to point out that some bedrooms are walk-through. You can clearly see what Im talking about in the attached house plan (official photos), and the owner did also give us a heads up about that, which I think its very fair. However, it is slightly inconvenient that in order to access two of the bedrooms you have to walk through other bedrooms that other people sleep in. Additionally, in both cases the two interlinked bedrooms also share the bathroom, and in our case (master bedroom) the doors to the bathroom didnt really close. If youre staying with close family that perhaps is not a problem, but if youre staying with a group of friends, they might not be so willing to share.

    The house was spacious, clean, well designed and decorated, comfortable and big enough for my family. The views and location were outstanding
    In one of the wings would recommend that they add a door between the main bedroom and the small bedroom for privacy.

    This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Verdun House, and it won't be our last. It is such a great location and space. Ann is very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend staying here for families and also couples.
