Very good

Room was very nice. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was very nice.

Entry way into new block feels like you are walking through a community centre, not a hotel. Bar area is very small.

It's always a pleasure to stay at the Wivenhoe House. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are always amazing. We have been lucky to have always been placed in the main house, where the rooms have older features. Our room for this stay included massive windows, and a fireplace. As well as a massive bathroom complete with a bath. Breakfast is also always nice, typically being a full English buffet breakfast. With made to order coffees. As this trip was for Christmas the hotel was good beautifully decorated. They also hung a stocking with some gifts on our door Christmas eve night.

Normally excellent but the noise and lack of restaurant left us disappointed

There was a party going on and it was very loud that we couldnt sleep. Also, due to the party the restaurant was closed. We should have been notified at the time of booking as we had to go back out to get some dinner.

Very pleasant stay at an excellent hotel.

The staff were excellent, the room huge and very quite. In the morning even though we arrived for breakfast 20 mins early they were happy to serve us.

Lovely hotel, close to University Campus for visiting students. Nice room, good breakfast.

The hotel has a big events space with rooms above it. Therefore the hotel often has big parties and private events on, especially at weekends. If a guest is not attending the event it is not very peaceful in the rooms above the events space. I found it impossible to go to sleep until after the event had finished at midnight. As well as the music from the party there were also people sitting outside chatting and laughing below my balcony on the ground floor (outside the Brasserie area). I'm sure the hotel was wonderful for guests involved in the party but for me, who just wanted a quiet evening whilst visiting my son at the Uni for his birthday, it wasn't great and was a very expensive room.

Fantastic

Lovely hotel and staff. Have renovated the lounge area. Meals are excellent.

The hot water wasnt hot. On previous visits it was fine.

Hotel is of a good standard with a good bar and resturant on site. Staff are helpfull and helped us out with a taxi. Parking on site and good size spaces. Room was slightly on the small side compared to other hotels but clean and had every thing you want. Breakfast was good and plentiful with endless coffee and tea.

Did notice room had no aircon, not an issue in October but room was warm so could be hot in summer months. Didn't get the toast or tea till after we had finished eating, again not a huge problem but still an issue that could be looked at.
