We loved the quaintness of this older style wooden cabin. The cabin was one of a small number in a wooded location at Diamond Point between Lake George and Boltons landing. Note it is not on the lake side but just across the road. You do hear some traffic noise. We used the public beach at Boltons landing. There was also a supermarket there, other outlet stores and a Walmart were just past Lake George Village.
The cabins were spotlessly clean and slept the amount advertised, the beds were comfy. All bedding and towels were provided and Tom the owner offered us regular linen and towel changes as we were staying 10 days. There is not a maid service, this is a self catering holiday home.
The small kitchen is very basic, a fridge, double hob, toaster, coffee maker, but we found it ok along with the ability to use the outside bbq area. The air conditioning worked well.
The shower room is cosy but not overly tight my husband is 6ft 5 and fitted fine.
There were outside games, table tennis and a swimming pool, this was unheated and shaded by trees, very cold but again very clean.
For those with limited mobility this may not be the place for you. There is a big step into some of the cabins and steps down to others, along with some rough ground from the tree roots.
Tom the owner is always on call, is approachable and nothing is too much trouble.
If you are looking for modern living with upto date modern appliances and are used to five star hotels maybe this is not the place for you. As stated the cabins are old but quaint, having said this we stayed for 10 days, loved it, it met all our needs at a reasonable cost. We found it far better and a more pleasant stay than one we had experienced in a hotel in Lake George village.
If in the area again we would not hesitate to book and stay at Amber Lantern.
