Our stay was a nice and quiet get-away from the city.
Quiet rooms, the balcony overlooking the lagoon, the breakfast, friendly and diligent staff. My son left-behind his airpods, and the staff went put of their way to arrange for it to be mailed to our Bangkok residence. I appreciate that very much.
The bathroom doors were opaque that if the lights in the bathroom are on, and someones inside taking a bath or a shower, the person outside would clearly see the persons sillhouette. Not comfortable if travelling with grown-up kids, like we did. The ev car charger, which guests were supposed to share amongst each other for 2 hours per time, was hogged by a mercedes car, so other cars couldnt use it. I dont think property imposes this 2-hour rule at all.

Very nice place to stay with a family, lots of fun things to do with kids.
The ambience and the staff were amazing. The breakfast is really good and the whole premises are well maintained. If there was any issue the staff was always ready to help, we felt really well taken care of.
It was not clear from the pictures that the beach is not quite accessible. You have a great view of the sea but it is almost impossible to go for a swim (at least not in December).

Nice for a family stay but the property is aged and it would not be my first choice for a five star hotel in Hua Hin.
Its a lovely old property situated in a green garden and lagoon area.
There is no access to the beach. The restaurants are not great compared to other five star hotels in the area

Everything a bit crammed together
The architecture was beautifull all in all hence the rooms are a bit old. Breakfast was great. Room service is very good.
Once we got the room that I booked it was a good room with nice ocean view.
I booked a room with seaview as I was impressed from the balcony on the pictures. But we were given a room that lookes very different -no balcony but a dark terrace were everybody could look in our room. After I complained we were given a room with balcony that was good. I write this to warn that many rooms look very different to what is displayed on the bookingcom website! IMO this is not a correct behaviour from a hotel company.
The Hotel is 10 minutes drive away from Hua Hin and there is NO beach but a wall to the beach. There is commercial music everywhere and all the time and a lot of people everywhere.

Just would not go back, it is a pity
I liked the design, I loved the Thai cultural feeling in the property architecture and the general feel.
Just a little old and it seems like the Anantara concept is no longer that what it was. The staff used to be mega trained and high level service was to be expected. Now it is not there. It seems simply poorly managed or there is a budget in place and there is a savings programme active. It is not the same it was.

There was a wedding that we were not informed about before the travel. The wedding ceremony was happening right in front of my balcony and because I was only spending a full day there, my stay was spoiled by preparing the whole day then the ceremony

Alex (who helped us in the front desk) is really great!!!!! He gave us best solution for us about transportation problem, and he is funny guy too. Chet also introduced us about the married couple program. We definitely will be back someday.
