    Overpriced, lack of luxury for little family break
    Clean cosy room
    Room barely accessible up 5 flights of stairs, no lift. No hot breakfast only cold continental style. Charged 24 extra to park on-site parking. Nearly 400 for 2 nights, 2 adults, 1 childextortionate.

    Very good B&B in Ambleside
    Liked the family room with a separate area for the 3rd bed (with own TV). Bathroom looked to be newly fitted and was roomy with good shower with two shower heads, and the whole room was very clean.
    Would have been nice to have a cooked breakfast but overall the food was very good anyway.

    Decent location and room was nice and comfy, and with a new bathroom. People were all nice and friendly too.
    It's a really big old place, basically two guesthouses knocked into one with an extension to the rear. We were up on the 4th floor in the main building so a maze of stairs and corridors to get there, but no lifts. Id say a faff as opposed to a problem for us, but lugging heavy cases up those steep twisty staircases might be almost impossible if you're not as mobile. Parking is right next to the lodge but you have to pay 10 a night extra which I think is a bit cheeky; but the main thing I didn't like was the breakfast, in that they don't do a cooked one. Its continental only so basically cereal, fruit, cheese, meats and toast/pastries. A disappointing start to the day and could only face it once before we had to go and forage a full English somewhere else (which cost me 30). Dealbreaker for me so won't stop again unless it's changes, too many other places that offer it.
