Very bad staff. Below was the situation for us.
Their hospitality is ridiculous. The front desk staff should probably get trained for some better communication skills and how to deal with customers. When did whatsapp replace emails for default mode of communication? I dont remember seeing a whatsapp numbers mandatory field in booking.com..lolWhen it comes to requirements on id proofs especially for international travelers, isnt it hotels responsibility to make sure the message is delivered using proper communication channel (which is the email everywhere in the world when it comes to reservations) especially when the requirements are different than the ones mentioned in booking.com? The argument was, they sent the requirements through whatsapp and its our headache. Did we confirm anytime that we use whatsapp? Or was there a note to us anytime that all official messages would be sent via whatsapp? When domestic airlines only would accept international driving license as valid id proof, is it a crime to assume that hotels would not accept? The way the front desk staff (should have written his name down), was illogical, non-sense and rude. The email which we got from booking.com says, guests should show a photo identification. Thats what we carried which is an US drivers license accepted by domestic airlines as well in India. Its a minimum common sense to place themselves in customer shoes to understand the root cause which was not the case with that illiterate front desk guy. He was not trying to fix the problem rather wait for the same issue to occur with other international traveller. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
