    The Dreadnought Hotel has a great location in the town centre with a grand entrance. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and period features, but feel a bit tired. The staff are welcoming and e (Read More)fficient, with safe storage for bikes. There is no breakfast included, and the adjoining bar is separate. Despite not being a 5-star hotel, the rooms are clean and comfortable, with the manager being very friendly and helpful. Overall, a recommended place to stay.

    Suited our needs well for a one night stopover on our way home.
    Cooked breakfast at in-house cafe was good and filling, lots of veggie options. Family room was very spacious. Old hotel, a little tired but with character. Secondary glazing worked well to reduce traffic noise.
    Lack of fresh coffee and pot of tea at breakfast. Lack of surfaces/rails/hooks in bathroom, and no bathroom lock. Bedside lights were too bright.

    Basic simple one night stay in a clean room within a classic old Scottish building
    Was good for a one night stay on solo motorcycle trip. Basic single room was very clean and all I needed. I ate out with the hotel so cant comment on that service. The building itself is a classic old Scots hotel.

    Staff friendly, no extra cost for for our pet which was good
    Room not clean. Remains from previous users of the room. Floor not hoovered. Dog hair from previous users. Kettle not emptied from previous use. Shower broken. Bathroom cold and strong smell of sewerage. Had to keep the bathroom door shut.
