We were looking for an upscale hotel for our 4-day trip to Athens for the New Year's and while we usually stay in big chain hotels in such cases, we decided to try Electra as we had seen it several times when we were in Greece. Our expectations were probably too high. The bed was rather too soft for us, but it may be subjective. Our biggest issues with this hotel were the noise insulation of the room (135), but more precisely its total absence. We could hear all the details of any movement of the guests above and next to us including the precise details of their bathroom. There was frequent noise also heard from the lobby (children screaming and running around), banging doors in the corridor. Noting it was rather peak season, the hotel was fully booked and there was no chance for us to change the room and were not offered though we informed the hotel about this inconvenience. The shower was not to the par of a five-star hotel that was also disappointing. The breakfast was managed poorly - we understand there are certain times when most people come, but there is no information about it. Each morning we tried different times and always had to wait for about 30 min to be seated. The breakfast choice is also very limited to such level hotel with almost no options for vegans. Overall, we were very disappointed with the quality of this hotel. When we informed the hotel about the issues, the staff was very understanding and even offered us a bottle of some spritz that we left in the room as it did not change the fact that we did not have any reasonable rest during our stay. I rated overall 7, but mostly because of the staff and not the facilities or the room which are also very important as that's where we usually spend most of our time while in a hotel.
We would not recommend or stay there again.
