    The Ella Planters Bungalow is a paradise in the hills outside Ella, with stunning views and comfortable rooms. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the food is excellent. The location offers (Read More) a peaceful and relaxing experience, away from the busy city center. Guests praise the beautiful surroundings and the sound of nature. Some rooms may be noisy, but upgrading provides incredible views. Overall, it is a highly recommended place to stay and enjoy the beauty of Sri Lanka.

    Very lovely, you definitely can feel that this was formerly a planters home. Lovely views, great food and beautiful gardens
    A little far away from Ella, you just need to know this in advance - our driver missed the turn going up the Hill so it was quite a drive having to go all the way down the Hill again after the driver realized the mistake once we were up in Ella.

    Room with a view. For group of 4
    We stayed in the only room with balcony view of the sunrise. Breakfast was simple. Eggs and sausage and fruits and some carbs. Simple and quite decent.
    Flooring is quite pain to step only as its made of twine. Suggest to bring own bedroom slippers as its not provided. Toilet door wasnt fully able to close. However abit far from the city and need Tuktuk transport to get around. Wasnt close to any other attractions.

    Amazing views, wonderful environment, great attentive staff.
    Lovely staff, comfortable beds, very clean. The views were insanely gorgeous. Lovely pool.
    If I was being really picky, I would have liked a bigger portion of Chicken curry. We got 1 small leg each BUT it was delicious.

    Amazing location and great accommodation
    The Planters Bungalow was in an amazing location, several kms out of the town, with views across the paddy fields and hills. Our room was huge, with a comfy bed, lots of seating and a good bathroom. We had a good breakfast every morning, and staff were attentive and helpful. I could have happily spent all day there, next the pool, and would definitely recommend this place to stay.
    I would have liked a bit of history/photos of the old tea planters bungalow but, otherwise, it was all great.

    It's just a lovely place to stay! Very chilled place
    Beautiful property, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, fantastic view, great monkeys! Room was very large and comfortable with a great balcony, and although we didn't use the pool it is a great feature. Great location, about 20 mins tuktuk from Ella which is a buzzy town but nice to be in the wild. This was the only thing we were concerned about before going but the transport to and from the town is very easy. Hotel has it's own transport for getting you there and can arrange that also to pick you up, but because we didn't want to be held to a time we just got one of the many on offer in Ella.

    A lovely place to stay but overpriced compared to other places we stayed
    Our room was very nice with a lovely view out over the lowlands. from the verandah and room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean. The gardens were well tended and lovely and peaceful to sit in.
    The breakfast was nice but not exceptional given the price, while dinner was pretty average. There was a temple very close that played chanting from a recording for 2 hours very loudly one evening which was very distracting. The tile surround of the pool is very slippery.
