24 hour check in was great, and was just 10 minutes from King's Cross on foot
Would be good if the beds had curtains

Exceptional
Fun. I liked the GENERATOR in Venice Italy more, but I would definitely return to the one in London.
It is a fun, vivid, colorful place, full of activity and welcoming. The private 4 bed room was confortable and with plenty of heating, with good pillows and confy conforters, clean, individual lights and usb chargers in the bunk beds, and plenty of charging points in the walls. Location 10 min walking to St Pancras International to catch the Eurostar or trains to any airport, as close as to Russel Square St or Euston and to bus 14 to Kensington Gardens and Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, The V & A Museum, The Natural Science Museum. Really close to the British Library and British Museum, within pleasant walking distance to Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, and even Big Ben / Westminster Abbey. Bar & food on premises.

Bathrooms a bit far in between, bins in bathrooms need to be emptied more often.

Very good
Convenient stay
Super convenient location, close to Russell square and King's Cross station.
Safe surroundings and some nice shops nearby
Bathrooms aren't clean, many locks aren't working, no enough shelves as well.
No curtains for each bed...

Very poor
Very poor
Communal area
6 bed dorm extremely cramped, only room for 1 person to walk between the bunks at a time, female showers only 1 of 5 had working lock, fire alarm went off 3 times over 3 day stay at all hours and no follow up message to say whether it was a test or real leading to lots of confusion for guests

Simplicity, food and the staff were excellent.
Was surprised that it was bunk beads. Booking site should have made us aware. However it was what it was.

Bad
Bad experience I would never ever try it again
Only the stairs outside the building
And the billiard table maybe at the restaurant
There are so many things need to be considered from the manger of this property
First of all the cleaning i saw the employee throw the bed sheets and pillow cases on the floor and step on the while she was cleaning and then she took on of the pillow cases to clean the locker this was a disaster for me and i do have a video proofing that.
The rooms are not good ventilated i got influenza from on off the guest . And I spent 3 days in bed .
The other thing is for a building with 6 floors there is only one laundry room containing 3 washing machines and one dryer i spend on night to wash my clothes
But all I got a wet damaged clothes at the end because their washer kept spinning for two hours and my clothes inside with a 90c water temperature
And when we call the receptionist , all what he said is I am sorry i can not stop it i am not allowed to play with the electricity let us wait until the morning so the maintenance guy come and see what is the problem we didnt accept that then he called one of the security to switch off the electricity to stop the washer . Next morning I went to a laundry shop to fix what I could fix for my clothes. To mention that I have paid them 8 pounds for this useless laundry process that wasted my money and time .
The staff at restaurant so rude not all of them for sure
And those who are responsible for room cleaning can not understand or speak English.
The shower room is so small you can barely stand inside it without touching the walls and for men bathroom as my partner tried it in different floors they was so disgusting and seemed to be never cleaned .

Pleasant
Decent enough hostel
Staff was helpful and friendly, even allowing me to check-in a few hours ahead of schedule, which allowed me to leave my luggage and take a shower before heading for my daily activities.
This was my third time staying at the Generator, and I've grown tired of asking for a male preferred dorm room, as they tell me such a thing does not exist. I feel more comfortable and at ease with guys only, and this time for the second night I felt like I was almost the only guy in the room.. I wish they had a few of the larger dorms dedicated for guys only, it would only be fair considering the women get their own.

Location was good, and the bar area was nice, not all staff was happy to do their job but that might be too much asking
It is definitely not clean, nor the room nor the bathroom, you could learn a bit of your japanese counterparts they do have a clean hostel. I saw couple of times their cleaning process and it was barely moping the floor, that was it.

Great location, 10 min walk to Kings Cross and St Pancras Station, 10 min walk to Russell Square tube station
The toilets on the level we were placed on blocked all the time, only some of the showers had warm water to them, if youre staying on level 2 you will have loud music blasted from the ground floor until 2am.
