    The better of the two hostels in guwahati I know of
    Having stayed at the 'other' budget hostel in guwahati, I can now say that for me Gibbon is the better of the two currently listed on booking.com Gibbon has WAY better vibe and layout and while it is basic and could be cleaner, you get what you pay for. I meant to stay one day and ended up here one week. It's close to shops well lit at night. There's a ping-pong table but no means to play it.....
    Could be cleaner. Slamming door to one dorm. Staff turning off the hot water when you've just turned it on!

    We booked 1 bed in dormitory and 1dbl bed room. Dormi was ok, but the room was just pathetic. The room is situated at the back side of the property and it is seperated from the main building. There is no proper way to get to that room. We had to make our way through an extremely untidy kitchen and store room, followed by an open drainage. The entire way was full of dirt, flies and mosquitos. Though we have booked through booking.com and arrived there at 8 pm, we did not get our room ready. It seemed that they were not expecting us!!! The staff said that they were not informed about our booking! After seeing us, they started cleaning the room. Room was small, dirty and smelly. They applied too much room freshner to manage the smell.

    Bedbugs. Stayed for 1 night. Woke up and saw bedbugs on me. Checked bags and clothes kept on bed, and they were infested with bedbugs. First such experience after staying in 10+ hostels in the last year. Other travelers staying in the dorm also experienced the same.

    The location was very prime inside the city
    In the non AC room the airflow is not good which made us sweat during nights
