Great hotel, tucked into a quiet lane way close to the lake
Excellent location, one street back from Hoan Kiem Lake and tucked down a little lane way. The staff were incredibly helpful and on top of anything you may need, they are in touch with so many cruise/tour operators that they often know your plans before you tell them and will come and get you from breakfast if a guide or driver is early. They will hold your bags for a few days if you are off on a trek or cruise and will happily organise taxis or activities in Hanoi. The streets around the hotel are closed to traffic over the weekend which makes it a great spot to sight see around the lake. Breakfast was great with plenty of options to keep you full for the day and their rooftop bar is nice to take in the skyline for a pre dinner drink.

Weak coffee at breakfast. Coffee maker not working.
No bedside ac outlet to charge phone, but after 3 days we found ac multi socket bar in desk drawer.
After 6 years coming back to the Pearl, we feel that it is going down. SAD.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay.
Excellent location. Staff is extremely polite and helpful. I hap to postpone my stay for a week at the last moment and they considered my request promptly.

Calm amid a chaotic city!
Staff was so friendly, greeted us with tea, helped arrange car services. Rooms were big and comfortable, everything was made very smooth! Right in center of the city. Would recommend!

Great location and value fro money.
The location was excellent right in the heart of the old district with easy access to the lake; night markets and cafe.
The staff at reception particularly Judy and Jimmy were super helpful with tours/check in.
I found the staff at the restaurant less friendly.
