Check-in receptionist was pretty unpleasant from the moment we stepped up to the desk, despite our smiles, which pretty much set the tone for the stay. My dad, a teacher, is pretty unflappable but even he walked away and made a comment about her bad attitude. Not exactly the caliber of service youd expect from such a location.
Facilities are dated, though comfortable, but our room looked out on the patio/pool area and the music from the bar was audible despite closed doors.
The killer was that the parking fee was astronomically expensive, an unfortunate surprise. $40/night for a damp, dank underground parking lot. We stayed at another Hilton property in the area the night before, $17 for parking, thats reasonable. Honestly, if I had known (the amount is not listed anywhere on the hotels booking.com page), we would have stayed somewhere else. Thank god we only stayed one night, the gentleman checking in next to us was unfortunately staying for three and was equally saddened by the realization that hes be paying $120 for parking alone. Its not like its in an area where you can find alternative parking, so this is obviously the hotel price gouging. It made the room deal we thought wed found on booking.com end up more expensive than alternative properties and, after the lackluster stay, we left feeling a bit cheated.
