The room amenities are basic but sufficient. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money.

    Overall I would say my stay at Shangrila Kota Kinabalu has been a remarkable experience.
    Breakfast serve at the hotel was worth the money we pay for it. Thanks.
    Attention given by your front desk counter should be equally polite without distinguishing the thickness of their wallet.

    Excellent value, very good hotel
    Great value, very good hotel, everything we needed. Once the New Year was in, prices dropped almost 50% which was a nice bonus. Tips: the Crocodile farm.near Tuaran is well worth a visit, as is the Mosque on Water (you can go inside, impressive). The Mari Mari Cultueal Village is also very good even if relatively expensive at RM100/person. They feed you and the longhouses are excellent. The dances at the end are also top notch. We found the Nook to be over-rated for breakfast - the food wasn't bad, just not as good as the rave reviews! On the other hand, the Welcome 100% Seafood Restaurant (across the road and only about 400m from the Shangri-la) is excellent.

    The rooms facing the street are verffentlicht very loud. You can hear every car, honk or sirene pass. So maybe ask for a different room when booking if you are a Light sleeper.
