The place is not thoughtfully built and is poorly run. I stayed on a cold Dec night, and the room when I checked in was freezing. Cranked up the heat, 2 hours later still freezing. Bathroom tap only has cold water. Called 2 times to reception and once to housekeeping - no answer. Went down to reception, the guy there is playing on his phone; says he did not get any calls from a room. Sent a maintenance person to the room; the guy arrived quickly and in front of my eyes pulled out a horribly clogged air filter and replaced it promptly (good!). Fixed the cold tap problem by banging on pipes. An hour later the room warmed up but the tap reverted to running cold again.
The lovely cafe in the lobby was compromised by the fact that the only entrance to the hotel is one set of giant doors that automatically open, letting in a massive gust of freezing air. This made the lobby cold and drafty. Why not build such a new hotel more thoughtfully - say with double doors or a revolving entrance door? And why not install a heat pump instead of an old-school air-pumped ventilation system that gets clogged up? Very disappointing altogether.
