Hotel and staff were good.Excellent food quality

Very noisy as there is a under construction building next to the Hotel. Work starts at 5 am and literally we were awake from 5 am during our 4 nights stay in this beautiful property.

The room was okay. The staffs were helpful.

We asked for a plate and spoon. But they said they are going to charge 500 rupees for that. Seems like this is their house rules which didnt make any sense.

Superb

I loved the helpfulness of the staff and how they accommodated our requests. Especially since I was traveling with my child. The facility was nice and cozy and very well done up for Christmas. And also superbly well located right next to Park Street. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Kolkata.

A nice hotel but with several negative issues

The hotel is in a convenient location for walking to Park Street, Victoria Memorial, St. Paul's Cathedral etc. The heritage building has been well-maintained and is quite beautiful. My room on the 6th (top) floor offered a nice view of the lawn area. The room was very comfortable - comfortable bed, desk, fridge, iron/ironing board, excellent wifi, and plug points that accepted UK 3-pin plug. Checkin and checkout was reasonably efficient. The breakfast had a nice selection of items.

(1) There is on-going renovation work in progress. During the day, banging and drilling noises were heard fairly regularly from my sixth floor room. But the most annoying thing was paint-like smells coming through the air conditioning which irritated my eyes and throat. (2) I drew the short straw and was allocated the room (617) with an interconnecting door to the next room. I could hear the neighbours talking, laughing, snoring, which was quite annoying. (3) The service in the restaurant for breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Two days out of four I had a problem simply getting an omelette (one day, it failed to appear after 15 minutes). Another issue is that the waiters only tend to clear the tables when the diners actually vacate the table. First, this means that diners must eat surrounded by lots of clutter when they are on their 'last course' and secondly, when the diners do vacate, it takes so much longer to prepare the table for the next diners, who are often left standing around waiting.

Breakfast was great. The food staff were very professional and welcoming

Customer service, parking and indifference of the lobby staff. The bathtub which was slippery is a safety hazard!!
