A beautiful and extra special stay in a truly top class, opulent hotel in Edinburgh
Stunning decor, classy and 100% 5* throughout and the room was gorgeous (we were upgraded to an amazing suite), wonderful staff who were friendly and couldnt do enough to help you, and the location was fantastic for getting around Edinburgh. Would highly recommend! And would love to stay again. We were there for a special occasion (as well as New Year) and it really was made extra special by this fabulous hotel and all of its people, so we just wanted to thank all the staff there so much for everything. We had the absolute best time

Location and bar were good
Not as clean as it could be and the public seating area needs a lot of attention as it is sporadic and poorly arranged - none of the furniture seems to match or be part of a theme

A bit disappointed on the room & small extra charges
Location was good and staff
Our room was not the biggest bed for a double bed was very small not much bigger than a single bed room had big pieces of furniture in so was cramped Id rather have a bigger bed than furniture after all your not in that much & a good sleep is better we also had to pay 6 supplement for pancakes plus 23 for two mimosas which you would expect as standard with a 5 star hotel with the tariff we paid granted New Years Eve but still expensive also things like our bedroom windows where filthy and hall carpet had stains on for the two days we was there on our walk back to room Id definitely not expect that for sure I would not stay again based on our stay Id try another hotel for the amount we paid.

Wonderful feeling of luxury and comfort without being stuffy and which exceeded my expectations.
I booked the smallest single room and was delighted to find that I was upgraded to the normal room. Everything was charming and well appointed, with excellent amenities and snacks in the room. Location was perfect and the breakfast was outstanding.
The bed could have been a little bit more comfortable. I thought I would like the "garden" common area a bit more than I did, it felt less like a lounge were I'd want to hang out and a bit more like a restaurant. But those are both minor and overall it was wonderful.
