When I booked the room a couple of weeks prior to arrival I asked for a double bed.
Upon arrival I was told I had a room with two single beds, so I said that 'I hadn't travelled thousands of miles to sleep NEAR my wife'.
We looked at the room to see if the beds could be moved together but they had a wooden surround so couldn't be. As we moved the beds the floor and wall were filthy, so we went back to the reception. I asked for my money back but after a lengthy debate on the phone with the owner, the reception girl said she couldn't give me my money back but could offer me another room with a double bed for an extra 1500bht a night. I took it as I would have lost my money had I not.
The room was ok and had a beautiful view, the porter said the coke, nuts and crisps were complimentary and would be replaced everyday, alas, these were never replaced.
Twice I had to go to reception for toilet rolls and 3 times the cleaning staff removed our towels and didn't replace them resulting in me having a shower just to find no towel.
The staff on the whole were grumpy and I'm guessing this comes from management down.
The only happy staff were the guys in blue who sweep up the leaves in the morning, they were always smiling and courteous.
Breakfast was ok, you could find something to eat no problem.
The food in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, we only ate there once.
There are buggies to take you up to the rooms which is a nice touch but they aren't always there and the upper rooms are on the tsunami escape route so expect a walk up a hill.
Overall you can probably guess we left as soon as our few days were up. Would I recommend you staying, no. Will you stay, probably as the pictures make it look good.
Heed my story and find another hotel.
