    La City Mercado is a modern, purpose-built hotel with a great location within easy walking distance of main tourist sites in Alicante. The receptionists, Julia and Carolina, are highly praised for th (Read More)eir hospitality and English-speaking skills. The rooms are cozy with a nice layout, but some improvements such as non-slippery carpet, kettle and tea bags, and better sound isolation for doors are suggested. The hotel is clean, affordable, and conveniently located near the city market. The breakfast buffet offers a good variety of high-quality options. The staff is friendly and helpful, making for a pleasant stay.

    Great Location and Good Value Overall.
    The location was excellent - just near the central market hall and the Mercado tram station. The airport bus stop was just outside too. Staff were very friendly and able to help with any requests we had. The room was clean and serviced every day.
    The room was extremely hot, even though we turned the heating off, and there was no way to cool the room other than open the window. As this hotel is on a busy main road, it was very noisy. Fortunately, ear plugs were able to combat this. Either ask for a room to the rear, or ensure ear plugs are present. If you like a very warm room - it is winter after all - there will be no issue. However, northern Europeans (like us from north-east England) may struggle.

    The room was clean, AC worked, and there was a mini fridge that you could use for free.
    The room I was offered for 75 a night (without breakfast) was super small. There wasn't even enough room to open your suitcase on the floor. Also, my window was directed to the wall of the building next to me, which was sad because you would look at a plain wall. For 75 a night during in autumn I think it was quite expensive.

    Great little hotel with friendly staff in an excellent location.
    Excellent location especially for the old town castle train station and tram. Very quick and efficient check in and information from Raul. Lovely breakfast served but the very helpful and pleasant Maria Jose .
    We had problems with the toilet not fixed properly to the wall and our shower head wouldnt stay up in place. We told Raul next morning who offered to move us which was excellent but with only one more night we decided to stay in the same room.

    Good location, staff friendly. Rooms are a reasonable size, quiet, and have a safe and a small empty fridge. There is a Carrefour Express on the opposite side of the road.
    Wifi was not working in the room, we were offered an alternative room but declined as it was not suitable for us. Pillows are hard and uncomfortable. Room ac did not appear to honor the temperature setting so room was either to cold, or with ac turned off it was to warm.
