Very good

Really comfortable, lovely staff and a special location.

The rooms were really comfortable with superb views. We loved the swimming pool and the gym.

Nothing the property could do anything about but the weather was poor and we were in clouds with no visibility which was a shame. It still felt extremely atmospheric though with the French ruins appearing out of the clouds as we explored. Would also get a top floor apartment next time as guests above us were noisy.

Great place for a retreat or having some time off in a fantastic landscape.

As the resort is very remote one has to eat there. The food was generally fine, but some of the dishes were a bit dull.

Fantastic special and relaxing resort on BaVi mountain!

Fantastic environment in the mountain of Ba Vi with jungle around the compound with magnificent bamboo bushes and banana trees amongst others. Really special place with French ruins around and not too large bungalows spread over the area and amazing pool area with view over the area. Limited amount of spacy comfortable rooms in each bungalow each with balcony makes it really nice and relaxing to stay for a few days.

We went to the Spa the first day in the afternoon for my wife to have a treatment - BUT it was karaoke party on top of the Spa building with just a terrible noise that made it impossible to have a relaxing time. How can any manager allow such karaoke party with that noise in the compound? We also had a luxury set menu in the Tonkin restaurant with one of our Striploin beef steaks being really bad - I did not send it back since I did not want to ruin the athmosphere, but that was really disappointing.

Melia standard is way down from what it was eatlier

It's my second trip to same Melia, the staff is so polite, nice and helpful. The location is as always beautiful. Breakfast was good, dinner on second night was excellent.

If you love rats company in room, wrlcome to rat friendly Melia Ba Vi where your night will be sleepless when rats running around in your room. Rats in room spoiled my sleep although i let rats stay in my room for free. First night dinner was worst. Pasta was worst than street vendors quality, Tom Yum soup was also bad except the big shrimp in it was good. It was waste of money. Door of bathroom was not closing unless you press hard to close it, doors were noisy when we close or open it. Seems they don't care about servicing and oiling the joints. Rooms i understand can't be totally soundproof but you can hear next room guests nornal talks. You can understand how it will be when a couple is in next room at night . You can enjoy same homestay feeling if you love homestay by paying high amount and in luxurious/royal way at Melia. And yeah, forgot to mention that they've made the forest a garbage dumpyard. Beautiful views, good staff, not worth the money for what you get

The property itself was beautiful and had great views. The service was exceptional.

It definitely wasnt luxury. The rooms were good, but the spa was not. The hot water was warm, there was one restaurant open with mediocre food, like everything came out cold. The taste wasnt there, the temperature was off, the selection on the menu itself was okay. For breakfast, half of the food was room temp, the coffee was cold, but the made to order egg station was the savior. All in all, it felt like this was a new resort that wasnt ready to open yet. Im not sure if thats the case, but they have a lot to work on before charging this kind of luxury price.

We had such a fun time, were able to relax and enjoy nature!

Definitely felt like a retreat, very secluded location and good security. Its inside government protected forest (Ba Vi national park) so everything here feels very authentic, natural and really makes you feel like youre in the wild. Great place for forest/mountain type of people. Weather was perfect when we were there. Also the front desk staff was very tentative (she phoned to check on us as we didnt leave the room for a long time), thats very nice and showed good caution, good training. Food was ok, i really like the bn c at breakfast. Room service was punctual. Theres adequate activities to do around.

Upon arrival room smelled musty (understandable since its inside the forest) but I would recommend hotel use a dehumidifier or take some steps to get rid of the smell before guests arrival. Should have a hot pool. We wanted to enjoyed to pool but its was very cold. Need to pay more detailed attention when cleaning the room. We had a little problem upon checkin but was quickly resolved by the hotel.

Wonderful getaway from Hanoi

Melia Ba Vi was a perfect getaway from Hanoi! The staff, property- including pool, were lovely! My daughter especially loved the farm animals.

I would have liked to seen the old church ruins on the complimentary property tour.
