    We really liked the Spa. And your Ukrainian waiter.
    Although the food was excellent, the vegan option, which was very tasty, (dhal and mushroom risotto) was the same price (62 pounds) as the set menu and we felt this was disproportionate.

    Our American friends said it was like being a guest at Downton Abbey.
    We were given rooms almost next to each other which really helped . The rooms had everything that we needed. The staff were helpful & friendly. The `communal sitting rooms` were calm & classic, like being in a stately home. The spa was quaint with its cottage entrance.
    The drinks were very pricey! My bed although comfy & very clean had a dip in the centre of the mattress.

    Perfect, relaxing break.
    Beautiful property with great views and grounds. Free access to a small gym, pool and sauna/steam with jacuzzi too. The staff were all lovely and could not do more to help. Rooms were clean and ready on arrival ( we arrived four hours prior to check in). Rooms were equipped with a bath and everything you would need for a relaxing break. Breakfast was great and lots of choice. The hotel is a great location allowing a trip to York centre, the staff even sorted a taxi for us. Thank you, we will definitely recommend this for people visiting York.

    We had a lovely one night stay. All staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful, polite.
    We were upgraded to main building, lovely en-suit room with wonderful view to front aspect. Bed very comfortable, shower/bath good, complimentary toiletries lovely. Breakfast was hot and tasty and plentiful. Good parking available, were able to leave car and use taxis into city. Fabulous real fires lit around hotel - so cheerful. The hotel itself was beautiful with wonderful features and impressive rooms. Easy quick access to the city of York (we used taxi) but there is a bus stop just at the end of the road. Hotel staff called taxis for us each time. The grounds are beautiful to walk around. Definitely would like a return visit.
