I picked this hotel for a few reasons - quality, laundry, and a pool table. I would first like to say the quality for the price is not there. The hotel is marked and priced as a five star hotel. However, when I think of five stars I think of details and well maintained. The room is not any of those things, there's staining, cracks, broken items, water damage on the ceiling, floor boards are coming apart, the air conditioner unit would quit working at times. Additionally, the room was not cleaned properly, the counters had not been wiped down and there was human hair in several locations. Onto the laundry, they charge a ridiculous amount for regular laundry, not even dry cleaned. They charge per item and charge a different amount for each type of clothing. Currently the price to wash and dry ONE pair of socks there is more than $1 USD. I could literally go out and buy new socks instead of getting them cleaned! Also, if you want the laundry returned to you within 24 hours of your check-in time, you have to pay an additional 50%! Next, the pool table, my partner wanted to play and was looking forward to having it, I specifically looked for a hotel with one on booking.com and according to their description they have one for an additional charge to play. Yet when we arrived and asked about it, they said they got rid of it a long time ago. Those were my main issues with the hotel, but there were smaller things as well, the breakfast was very expensive, despite being closer to the airport they still charge a fee to drop off/pick up. The balcony for your room is an illusion, you have to get permission to go out on it, otherwise it remains locked for "safety".Those things made it feel like a money grab at every opportunity. The rooftop dining is expensive and gave me food poisoning, I don't expect to get sick of the most expensive dining experience of my four weeks in Thailand. For those reasons I had to knock points off.
