From 3rd of June to 6th of June 2023, we, a group of six (of which three were senior citizens), established our base at this beautiful hill-side resort, situated around 20 kms from Tallital Bus Stand of Nainital.
After a ride of around 1 hour on Pangoot road from Nainital, we reached Baggar Talla. The road post Pangoot was an utter disappointment in these modern times.
With the view of the resort location, our tiredness fled. Even though it had been just two years of establishment, the premises seemed very well-maintained. There are two distinct types of stay-facilities, namely, mudhouse and treehouse. We booked three mudhouses among our group of six, about a month ago.
All incoming guests are required to check-in at the official desk, which is situated at the Bistro within the premises. Our check-in period was scheduled for 11 AM, but since we reached around 9 AM, upon our request, the resort staff helped us by providing us with early check-ins in two mudhouses (the 3rd one was occupied for the morning).
Regarding our review, first I'd like to state few positive points:
1. As already mentioned, premises were well-maintained.
2. They served freshly made meals. From breakfast to dinner, everything was deliciously nutritious.
3. They stood true to their name - BISTRO, by accomodating home-cooked-like cuisines at relatively affordable prices.
Regarding the CONS of this place, I'd say:
1. Since we made our bookings a month before our visit, we also made advance payments. Apparently, the resort manager failed to do his due diligence and had to ask us for payment, on the second day itself. All he had to do was check our advance amount and charge our newly made expenses to the same credit card, the details of which, we already provided earlier during our booking itself.
This event felt humiliating as it would have been completely avoidable, if the manager would have performed his due diligence.
