The worst stay ever! Best to avoid a booking here
    Absolutely nothing!
The service was exceptionally poor. The room, a luxury heritage room was sub-standard to say the least (including a broken geyser). Unapologetic staff who refused to acknowledge issues with service, with rooms, with waiting times. Extremely dissatisfied with the entire experience. Exorbitant price for exceptional poor quality!

    Nothing to write home about
The breakfast spread was good. The food overall was tasty and of good quality. The quantity was sufficient. It is not surprising that the lunch buffet is very popular, and there are many tourists flocking to the restaurant in the afternoon. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful.
The property is old, and it is showing in everything. The toilets have old fixtures, and the bath tubs are stained. You need to shower in the tub, so forget about a dip. The room was smelly; we could not make out from wheretoilets or from the drains. The renovation works are on, and they seemed to go on late in the night (11:30 p.m. or 12:00 p.m.). The property has roads on two sides, and the traffic noise filters in. In addition to this, the passing trains and their horns are something to contend with.

    Elegant and historic
Beautiful historical property. I had read some reviews suggesting that it had fallen a bit in hard times and its age was showing. The portions of the hotel we experienced, including our room, were very well maintained, clean, elegant. Service was gracious.

    Exceptional
An icon of South Indian traditional grace
We love everything about this icon of Mysore, a delightful jewel in a famously lovely state. We loved the high Raj-era ceilings and thick (heat-defying) walls of the ground-floor suite (a special treat), which was spacious, decorated in gorgeous period furniture and lighting fixtures, including a claw-footed bathtub with shower, and had a lovely outdoor patio looking out over their lovely, well-manicured gardens. The food is unbelievably and reliably excellent. (I will love Mysore festival rice the rest of my days.) The service is efficient, warm, and courteous. No surprise, then, that this venerable hotel of traditional South Indian grace is much-beloved by locals, for whom it is a special-occasion breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and special-occasion venue. A must-stay if you can afford it without western-style expectations, and just enjoy what unfolds around you, which is the magic of India.

Beautiful hotel and gardens. Great breakfast and a decent restaurant on the premises. The room and environs have an authentic feel. I was there for work so didn't get a chance to see the sights but would recommend the hotel either way.
