It is a great hotel for families. Pools, water slides and kids club very very popular with the kids and it never seemed to be overcrowded. The adjacent activities outside the hotel also proved a hit, especially Sentopia, the Luge and the Fire and Light show. The free shuttle bus was a bonus.
The hotel rooms were very comfortable and a good size. Staff in all areas very attentive and helpful. The hotel has clearly been well maintained over the years. The buffet food was of a high standard with enough variety for all tastes

There were many things to do near the hotel & some staff were very helpful. There was a decent breakfast offering (but arrive before 9am).
The 'adult only' section was simply a rope across the pool separating the sides so it was very loud & splashy. The activities were broadcast on loudspeaker so there wasn't really anywhere to relax. Getting a taxi was very difficult. I have stayed in Shangri La's before & always had exceptional service, however here felt tired & somewhere like we were an inconvenience, maybe as it was the holiday season. I have never really had issues with a hotel before but this was way overpriced compared to the normal 5* Shangri La experience & I would not recommend staying here.

Was enjoyable.
Breakfast was good with a good choice of foods, buffet dinners were very expensive especially for children who eat next to nothing.
Children choose daughter 6 years old not much of a choice unless they eat the same foods as the adults.
