Very good

Slight dissatisfaction with the room size

Staff was exceptional and the breakfast was very good along with a brilliant location, the bathroom was lovely and very clean

We had booked the hotel as a Xmas present to each other and expected a reasonable sized room and was very disappointed as the room was very small made worse by 2 chairs and a small table

Nice hotel but too much noise in the room we had resulting in being too tired to fully enjoy our time away.

Nice room, comfy bed and pillows.

Woken up at 4:30 am on second morning by banging, contacted receptionist after about 10 minutes who said it was the chef. Noise continued for around another 1/2 hour or so. Reported to reception next day who said could not have been chef as they do not start till 6am but would look into it. Next morning woken around 6:15 by delivery van and delivery being unloaded right under our single glassed window. When checking out on final morning mentioned lack of sleep and noise again, again no real explanation of noise. We did get parking refunded but no real apology for disturbed stay. Emailed hotel on Saturday and now Tuesday with no response to our complaint at all. Was an expensive stay with lack of sleep which spoilt our overall visit as we were tired all day. Avoid room 19!

Ideal central location but pricy for room.

Cleanliness and central location. Good heating and efficient shower. Limited hotel parking but large public car park adjacent.

Most staff inexperienced but I understand the difficulty of getting enough staff in tourist areas. Although willing and pleasant some would benefit from training. Breakfast a bit slow and food just warm enough.

Great situation but would it consider it for the future due to lack of consideration to the elderly and disabled.

The location was brilliant.

The standard room was cramped especially the WC! It was very low and not enough leg room had to side saddle. As we had a dog we had to eat in the conservatory- which is fine but were told on second night that they were not serving food as there was a party. We had two elderly disabled people in our party and found this totally unacceptable and were not given prior notice. Very inconsiderate!

Our fourth visit to this hotel, staff, hotel, food, location excellent, very christmassy

Our fourth stay at this hotel, I think that says it all really. We love it!

The menu in the restaurant was lovely but my dad struggles with rich food, a more plain choice would have been good

Excellent accommodation and good food, but spoilt to an extent by an event in the function room

The room was excellent - comfortable, clean and roomy. Breakfast each day was also great - a good choice of different breakfasts which were served fresh each day.

Our room (20) was directly above the function room and on the second night there was some form of party there until midnight with loud music. To be fair to the Skiddaw we were notified of this, but only received the email 5 days prior to our stay. We would have considered cancelling or postponing our stay had we known of this event earlier and were disappointed that we were given this room.
