An exceptional hotel with a view to die for
Lovely comfortable beautifully decorated room with everything that you could require. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is a must and is worth it just for the view.

Very pleasant stay, but huge room for improvement
The hotel's exceptional location (Kolonaki) was close to all main restaurants and shops we intended to visit, which added an unparalleled convenience to our stay as we went everywhere on foot. Quite tiring on the way up since Lycabettus is a small hill but totally worth it! The breakfast venue featured a stunning view, it was really breathtaking! We went to the restaurant multiple times and enjoyed the remarkable view day and night. Amidst these positives, the bed's impressive size was a notable highlight, providing not only ample space but also an exceptionally comfortable sleep. Collectively, our experience at the hotel was very positive. They also have options for your pillow. Theres an actual pillow menu!
Our stay had some highlights, but a few aspects left room for improvement. Despite a diverse and tasty breakfast, the buffet wasn't warm enough, a point worth addressing. Despite paying for a room with a view, we were disappointed to find ourselves on the first floor, where a tree obstructed the promised view of Acropolis and since our room wasnt high enough, the Lycabettus view wasnt what we expected. I've attached a photo of the rooftop (outside) view and also the view from our room (bedroom) to compare the two. Attempts were made to upgrade to a higher floor, to multiple members of the staff but we were unsuccessful. The staff said they would inform us if an upgrade was possible but did not. So overall, try to contact the hotel beforehand so you dont waste extra money trying to secure a view and get what we got. The room itself was decent with a spacious bed, cleanliness, a small balcony, and a bathtub. However, the TV was outdated (so dont expect any netflix or movie options). One of the things I definitely want to comment on was the absence of a full-body mirror. There is a mirror in the room and in the bathroom but not a full body one. Additionally, the pool was closed during our New Year's visit, despite the summer-like weather, however, this was mentioned beforehand on booking.com, so make sure you read through announcements first if it makes a difference to you. The gym, though small and lacking equipment, somewhat compensated through the city's walkability. Overall, our stay was pleasant, but addressing breakfast temperature issues, updating amenities, and ensuring accurate room assignments are crucial for an improved experience.

    Disappointing
    Standards dropped severally
Property lets itself down by refurbishing their pool which prevents access for clients The mini-gym got worse with several machines out of order - not sure it can be called a fitness centre on booking.com The property didnt disclose it was refurbishing the first floor and had workmen drilling above my head The property has cables running in the stairs outside the property - perfect to break a leg when you get home at night. Food was very average with lunch served feeling like old food re-served from breakfast or worse the day before.

    Good
Iconic hotel, great location and view but it comes with inconsistencies.
St. George Lycabettus is an icon. I have memories of visiting or staying at the hotel since I was a child. The location is prime. Some of the rooms have a spectacular view of the Acropolis, even from the 1st flour as the hotel is at a vantage point on the hill. The roof top restaurant where the meals (incl. breakfast) are served has an even better view. The room was spacious enough and the balcony is great to have. The amenities are sufficient. I ordered breakfast as room service and it was fantastic!
Unfortunately my experience staying for 2 nights during a weekend was full of inconsistencies. My first point of contact with the hotel staff was with the valet at the parking facility. I called the hotel in advance to secure a parking spot and I was encouraged to go directly to the parking facility from where I could get my stuff to the reception. I arrived at the facility at around midnight after 5 hrs of driving, where I was greeted with the most inappropriate behavior by the hotel's valet/parking manager. After a couple of minutes and as I was grabbing my belongings from the cabin, I was rushed to get my stuff out so he can get the car down to its parking spot as there were other customers waiting to get their car up to depart. I told him I understand they may be waiting, but I just arrived to the hotel I have booked a room at and I need a few minutes to unload and get ready to move to the reception without stress. His response was "you booked a room sir, you don't own the hotel" and he encouraged me to leave and park somewhere else if I didn't like it. He also got my luggage out of my car's boot and he placed them on the side. In doing so, not only didn't he ask for my permission to move my stuff but he also forgot one suitcase which I later had to take from the -3 flour in retrospect in the early hours. I kept my composure and complained to the reception about this incident as it is not my job to confront their staff. The receptionist said a quick sorry and the security guy came asking to describe who that person was, his physique. Inadequate at least I have to say.. I have to mention that the other valet staff I communicated throughout the days I stayed were kind and helpful. Same applies for the cleaning personnel and the concierge. The point here is that from a 5-star hotel experience, I demand no stress, no pressure, zero confrontations. I want relaxation and comfort.

The hotel is in a great location, with great views and very nice breakfast.
There was no air conditioning in the room and when I asked for someone to fix it they said they were going to send a technician to take care of it. Instead they sent a person from the reception who couldn't do anything with it so I spent the entire stay in a room that was too hot. I also heard conversations of other residents with the same problem.

Like good view of Acropolis, otherwise I would give 5 out of 10.
Breakfast was good but same menu everyday. I stayed five days with the same menu.
Centralised air cond and unable to control from the room for heating or cold. Open balcony door to cool the room bring in mosquito. Bathroom shower water wetting on bathroom floor. No kettle provided. TV has one English channel I.e BBC.

    Scenic stay in Athens.
Amazing view, excellent breakfast. Very nice room. Pleasant staff. Good espresso machine in room. Comfortable bed and linens. Great location near upscale shops and restaurants- walked everywhere.
Short closet- shirt length only. Smallish room-OK for one. Tiny espresso cup can't hold double shot, but able to get coffee cup from housekeeping.
