The Tembo Palace Hotel is a beautiful hotel with spacious and clean rooms. The staff is helpful and quick to resolve any issues. The breakfast spread is lavish and the dinner is delicious. The hotel (Read More)has two pools, one with a stunning view of the Indian Ocean, and direct access to the beach. It is conveniently located near local shops, the Freddie Mercury museum, and various activities such as snorkelling and visiting Prison Island. The hotel's charm and great location make it a great choice for exploring Stone town.

Superb

The location was great, staff were super friendly and helpful, beach access, breakfast buffet was wonderful.

We had no hot water during our stay (were allowed to shower in a different room on morning of check out). There was mold on ceiling which can easily be rectified

Exceptional

Excellent hotel

Perfect location on the beach in Stone Town with all the amenities you need. The staff were very helpful. The decor is lovely and we enjoyed two pools. The breakfast selection was expansive. We had a big family room in a nearby building with a bathroom that was huge. On the last day, we stored our bags at the hotel while we did a morning tour of Prison Island. Great place to stay.

We got a bath towel but a hand towel would have been useful.

Exceptional

Everything, we stayed in the annex where one of the 3 pools is situated and is more private. Room are large with beautiful decor , meticulously clean , good water system. Laundry service reasonable and room service 24 hour. Beach side close to excursion points. Special thanks yo all staff especially manager Kassim , if you need a car look no further . Cant wait to go back , much love Louise and Joan

No elevator but that didn't bother us but might need consideration for others .

Superb

Great hotel located in the heart of Stone Town

Rooms were very clean. They have different buildings so I guess that the more expensive rooms are in the main one. They have also three pools and a nice restaurant with sea view.

I tried to use the public toilets close to two of the pools and one didnt have water and the other was dirty.

Great location and nice hotel to stay for a few days.

Great kolonial building with perfect location. Nice pools, breakfast and friendly staff. Small fridge in thermometer and tea/coffee facilities. Nice outside dining facilities. No alcohol.

Ive asked for 3 separate beds which were not available upon checkin.

The best place to start your journey in Zanzibar. Close to everything. Neat and tidy. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Breakfast had a large variety.

Loved it!

At breakfast we especially liked spiced coffee .... and the guy who was making omelettes and the girl making pancakes. In general, all the staff was polite and funny, making jokes but not being intrusive at the same time. The hotel has a certain flair to it...perhaps its history has to do with it. Had lobster for lunch which was super good and normal price.

We booked a room in the main building but got one in the annex...we did not complain because it turned out ok

Breakfast is varied enough for all tastes, delicious. Only their coffee, they don't know expresso.

The hygiene of food preparation leads you to the pharmacy, regardless of the stars of the hotel. Bdw: buy antibiotics and probiotics, advises the pharmacist. Recommend that the staff use gloves when preparing food and use boiled water for preparing fruit and salads. An excellent starting point for all tours, once a house, now the museum of F. Mercury, 50 m away. 200 m from the hotel by the sea on the platform there is an open kitchen every evening, a lot of offer, good and fresh food, very low prices. I recommend!!

Great breakfast buffet

Our room was not in the actual hotel but in a different building across the street with a smaller pool without sun. Still all fine, but we would have preferred being in the main building.
