There are 5 star hotels and then there is The Balmoral!
We have stayed at a few 5 star hotels but the Balmoral is next level. There attention to detail was exceptional - the matching bathrobe and slippers for my 4 year old daughter, the snowman cookie decorating kit and milk and cookies delivered to the room just elevated the whole Christmas experience. Even the in-room dining table with room service was an additional touch you don't see at a lot of hotels.
Cannot fault the experience, we will be back next year.

Fantastic location for a real Edinburgh experience.
Very welcoming, it was an oasis of calm in a busy pre Christmas season. Spoilt for choice in Scotch the whisky bar and the food and service in Number One was amazing.
Breakfast was very busy and we opted to eat there only once, finding better value quieter surrounding.

Lift to Spa area out of action for the 2 days we were there. A walk down stone steps 4 floors and then back up again. People were walking up and down in bathrobes and loose slippers, not safe at all

Excellent stay in an outstanding hotel
Very central to everything and right near the station lovely spa it was very clean the beds were really comfortable the breakfast choice was great and also room service menu we also went to number one restaurant had the 7 course meal which was outstanding would definitely stay there again.
I honestly cant think of anything I didnt like if I had to say something it would be too many stairs to the spa going down is great but coming up is a killer

Nice location right next to Waverly station and the Scott monument. Tea time was the best part of our stay!
The view from our room was a brick wall, a bit disappointing for the price of this hotel to get one of the rooms with no city view.
