Decent clean place for a budget stay with last minute booking

Room was large but basic. Bathroom was clean. Coffee estate was nice. Landscaping was good. Location was away from crowds and the reco to visit Kemmangundi was good.

Food was average.

Good hotel, great location, fantastic staff

Was in the area for a wedding. Venue is great in the foothills of a mountain, with their own coffee plantation and roastery. Breakfast was good and the surroundings beautiful, and the staff and hotel management incredibly helpful in correcting any small snags that occurred during the trip. They even sent a car to the wedding venue after us when we had forgotten to bring the wedding gift!

Rooms are a bit utilitarian and mattresses are seriously firm.

Staff , location and jacuzzi room.

I booked mountain view studio which was literally wooden box with a view. DO NOT book this room. Not at all worth 10k per night. But resort people were accomodating to change our room to jacuzzi room which was much better.

Not worth the money

We were asked to pay a deposit for our room using a link via the Booking messaging service from the hotel. I called to ensure this was required and was told yes. When I clicked on the link I was charged the full amount for the room. When I queried with the hotel they told me that I had been scammed via the messaging service. Upon arriving at the hotel we were asked to pay in cash for the 2 nights. We queried this again and were told that we had been scammed and the payment taken from our account hadn't been taken by the hotel. We've made a claim via Booking.com and the hotel but 6 weeks on and we have still not had our money back. To make matters worse, our room was full of damp, the pillows and bedding had damp spores all over them. The staff tried their hardest to make the room smell better but it was impossible. As the hotel was fully booked we couldn't change rooms until the next day. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this was the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel. I couldn't fault the onsite staff for their helpful attitude but we were hounded to pay for the room by different people within the first few hours of arriving. The location is great but the hotel needs work and for 100 per night (or 200 per night as it ended up costing us) the room we stayed in was no better than a budget hostel (in fact worst than any hostel we've stayed in).
