this is by any standards one of the most beautiful and fantastic beach hotel/resort in the world. the setting is absolutely amazing, the service very professional and at the same time most friendly.

We couldn't have been happier with our short getaway at the Datai! From the exceptional service and staff, to the wonderful restaurants serving excellent meals and quaint spots to walkabout and simply enjoy the well designed spaces, we absolutely loved all the details of our stay. The beach was very private and exclusive and it was definitely one of our highlights too; plenty of natural elements and wildlife to make our trip extra memorable as well.

We enjoyed our stay, but next time in Langkawi will opt for a newer and lower cost Marriott fo example.
Nice resort, even though the age of the place is showing in the rooms. Nice private beach down by the pool and restaurant.
I think the price is about 25% too high based on the age and condition of the rooms (30+ yrs and no renovations).

One of the best places in the world. Just a few tweaks could enhance it though.
The location is the best in the world for a tropical resort. Nothing better. The design has not aged and is timeless.
The staff are also delightfully friendly and engaging.
I felt the new refurbished bathrooms felt cheap. Poor choice of fake marble tiles and brassware for taps etc. Not in keeping with overall design quality.
Also, live music went on too late for those seeking peace and quiet. The food could be more innovative I feel.
The place, The people, The food, The service is absolutely amazing - almost heaven on earth - must be among the top 3 resorts in the world - this was our first visit - and we will come back again for sure
Had to leave after 5 days - could easily have stayed for 2 more days and just enjoyed life living the dream
