The Goddard Arms is a lovely pub with fantastic staff, although one manager made guests feel unwelcome. The food is excellent, with hot and tasty dishes such as gammon and mashed, monterrey burger, a (Read More)nd sausage and mashed. The environment is pleasant for dining with parents, but the bar area can get very busy and may need more staff in the late afternoon and evening. Overall, a great location for nightlife in the old town.

Exquisite experience and Delightful staff!

Upon arriving we were kindly shown to our room for the night, instructed and had our documents checked effectively. The room was a nice size, me and my partner quite like a small room and most importantly a bath. The TV worked which we used for music, there were tea and biscuits, a hairdryer, even a space heater/fan! Additionally, there was a lovely guest manual and the pub downstairs is exquisite as always for price and facilities. Food wise, we had our evening meal in the pub in two glorious chairs beside the fireplace, and I was served by this wonderful woman full of character and life; she was more than happy to serve and welcome us. Breakfast the next morning was delightful and a good deal with the increased price on top of accommodation fees. All in all, incredible stay and we would love to come again!

The room was a little hot and sweaty during the night, but there was space heater/fan that we could have used and we didn't so that is entirely on us.

Lovely pub. Great staff. Clean comfortable room/ bed. No noise despite packed pre Xmas pub (on 2nd floor). Able to park in car park easily and free Terrific value for money
