The Hotel Captain Cook offers great service, convenient access to tasty food, and a fully equipped workout facility. Guests love the stunning views of the bay for fireworks during New Year's and Fur (Read More)Rondy. The rooms have everything needed, and the staff is kind and helpful. The attached restaurants are convenient and delicious, especially Crows Nest. However, some guests found the pool/workout area inconvenient and there were minor issues with staff behavior. Overall, it is a beautiful place with fair prices and tons of amenities. Nearby activities include bars, eateries, and shops. The decor is dated, but the rooms are nice and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located for downtown walking and is a short trip from the airport.

I had a great time. That sauna makes it above the rest in Anchorage.

Love it here. The food, the shops, the location. Housekeeping is excellent everyone is friendly. The spa, live for it.

The carpets need replaced stayed here twice in two different towers and they look the same. Unfortunately it's very obvious as soon as you walk in the room. They cheapen the look of the room where everything else is wonderful.

Warm Winter Wonderland

The staff, location, amenities, and Christmas decor were phenomenal. The views and proximity are unmatched. I loved the warmth and charm of this historic hotel. The athletic club's steam room and sauna were the perfect reprieve from winter.

That I had to check out, and couldn't stay longer. Hah. Nothing to dislike. The hotel's restaurants are superb; you don't even need to leave the building which makes your stay feel like a resort.

Excellent stay

The staff was exceptional! The ladies in tbe spa area downstairs really stood out...they were so friendly and accommodating. The front desk crew was also very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and in the perfect location.

very good and walking distance to bars and restaurant's

hotel is in a superb location and a 5 minute walk from the tourist office where a lot of the tours start from and also 3 local bars/restaurants which are very good.

If you travel from a cruise and get the train from Seaward to Anchorage the hotel does not supply a shuttle to the hotel and it could take over an hour to get a taxi so be aware of this.

Extremely disappointing for the rate.

Loved the valet and bellman services! Both teams were exceptional and assisted myself and my mom during valet Parking and taking luggages to and from hotel room.

Paying $1200+ would've been okay, however, the room was less than par...chair was missing two buttons and the stick to open the left side curtains was missing. When paying so much, you would think that they would make the room up to standards. Housekeeping was amazing with making beds and cleaning things, but owners should have replaced chairs that have lost their fresh look and checking curtains to make sure everything is in tip top shape. I would've expected this had I gone to a motel at an extremely cheaper rate. At the end of the day my mom and I picked this stay because our tour bus was to pick us up and take us on a cruise. Room was extremely disappointing and I will think twice before getting a room at that rate in those conditions.
