The Imperial Torquay is a beautiful period hotel with stunning sea views and friendly staff. The hotel's cliff top location provides uninterrupted sea views, while the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast options were ample, but dinner choices were limited. Superb

Period excellence at its best with super friendly staff.

Enormous panoramic bay view (4th floor) deluxe king room with full sea view and beautiful balcony. Abundant self service buffet breakfast with imaginative extras in spotless magnificent surroundings with cliff top views. Indoor pool, saunas free to guests and gym and spa experience at reasonable charge. Ample parking under cover or open.

Evening restaurant menu can be a bit limited, but plenty of fixed options/snacks from the bar (recommend the WHOLE plaice, new potatoes and green beans) Ran out of Guinness over Xmas!

Great location, dog friendly!

The room was very big and perfect for us and our two labradors we had a wonderful sea view with patio doors that opened out to steps leading down to the garden which was great to let the dogs out in the morning and just before bed. The breakfast on the first day was not great, but the other two days was lovely with a good variety of continental and cooked food.

The hotel was very under staffed which was a big shame as you did have to wait to be served at the bar, to be seated at breakfast, to have your table cleared and to check in. We also wasn't very impressed by the cleaners servicing our room as they didn't take a tray away with ice buckets, plates and glasses along with a dirty towel. What i would like to say is the staff that were working long hours were friendly and kind to us and our dogs.

Very good

Great location albeit a little noisy (floor boards creaky)

Breakfast was excellent, good choice of food. Bacon was too salty for my liking, the rest was great. The staff were great.

Disappointing

WORST NEW YEARS EVE EVER!

The staff were lovely

Although advertised, There was NO hot tub, no sauna for ladies' no seating around the pool which was quite cold and the so called steam room was only big enough for about 5 or 6 people and given that the hotel was fully booked for a gala dinner, you were lucky to get in it as some people just wouldn't leave. My main reason for booking this hotel was for the 'spa' facilities to ease my pain, so to say I was disappointed was definitely an understatement. The Manager explained why they weren't in use and 'allowed' us to watch the band. However it was not a great trade off as I was in too much pain to enjoy it anyway. Also wasn't informed until we read a leaflet in the room that even though it was NYE the hotel bar was closed at 11pm! Are you serious????
