Let down by staff and showers

Nichola is amazing on reception, so upbeat, friendly and welcoming! He is always so energetic and its very approachable and nice.

The showers in the main building are freezing cold. Use the ones outside for warm water. Catherine on reception was really rude, had zero manners when checking in and paying. Very abrupt, unhelpful and when I asked to speak with someone else she just shrugged her shoulders. Quite hostile, no customer service skills, probs not the right job for her at all!

It is perfect if you like camping

The hostel's location is fantastic, with easy access to a tram just a 2-minute walk away, and the staff is friendly. There are beautiful parks and several lovely places to eat and drink nearby.

The overall cleanliness in the dorm and some common parts leaves much to be desired. On the second floor, the showers struggled to heat properly, making for an uncomfortable experience. Meanwhile, at ground level, there were constant leaks. The bedsheets, although washed, lacked a pleasant smell, and there were questionable stains. If you're seeking a stay with a camping vibe, this hostel might suit your preferences.

Good character to the place, staff were nice enough

Only one shower in the building has warm water, not acceptable for a building that big to have freezing showers on every floor but the bottom one. Dryer didnt dry my clothes so I put them back in, then dried again and still wet, had no coins left so left with wet clothes after spending 4 dollars drying.

Fantastic location, good common spaces, comfy rooms, but cold showers!

Fantastic location, great shared spaces. My 4 bed room was spacious. Beds are comfy.

Cold showers everytime! Just wouldnt heat up, even on the top floor. Luckily it was super hot this week so I didnt mind so much.

the external facade of the building and the tram stop a few steps away

All. the staff who did not warn me that for late check-in I would find my key inside the letter holder. luckily some guys who were staying there helped me. my reservation was for 4 nights, on the second day my key card didn't work and at the reception the annoyed girl asked me to pay for an extra night. mh, okay I have residual jet lag b u t w h a t I detto? turns out they were wrong and realized the mistake. ok, it happens. they could have at least apologized. grumpy. furthermore the room was dark, poorly lit. the bunk beds prevented the window from being opened. an acrid smell greeted you. a stuffy smell. the biodiversity of the carpet was a microcosm all its own. he fed on smelly socks and messy guests' clothing. but at least I didn't see any spiders. what a pity! poor hygiene in general. even rotten bananas in the room fridge. probably the feud between the bacterial contingent of the carpet and the almost mold of the bananas would have started at any moment. che laido! the terrible bathrooms. the showers leaked water constantly. luckily there were signs saying to respect the environment... certainly. I didn't even go into the kitchen. I have the feeling I won't be coming back. I do not recommend it. what to add... maybe for others this place is the pinnacle of life. point of view. (at least the common area was nice)

Good single room, basic but perfectly clean . Check in/out all seamless Good location for getting to central and Fitzroy/carlton

Room right next to the stairs and bathroom, no soundproofing so very loud as people up and about late at night and early in the morning (old building so probably can't be helped) Two of the 3 showers I tried couldn't get hot water to work properly
