Here are some of the reasons you shouldn't book this "5-star" hotel. We would rank it at best 2-stars. But you certainly pay the 5-star price.
1. Despite clear signage prohibiting swimming with clothes on, families seemed to be enjoying a pool day with full attire. Repeated complaints fell on deaf ears, and the management did nothing to enforce their own rules.
2. The serenity promised by the scenic views was shattered by banging on the ceiling and walls from 8 am and forward, which, despite three complaints, continued unabated throughout our stay.
3. Our attempt to escape the cacophony in the gym was shattered by a barely functioning treadmill, making it clear that maintenance was a foreign concept here. Every corner I turned, I was greeted by dirt, as if cleanliness had been banished from the premises.
4. As if on cue, a gentleman decided that the pool area was the perfect spot for feeding crows. The birds swooped down in droves, while the staff watched on, unresponsive.
5. Upon arrival we were assigned a room without a balcony, despite having paid for one. Additionally, the power outlets near the bed were out of order, and the sheets provided covered merely half the bed, leaving the mattress exposed like a sore thumb. This, we've never witnessed on any hotel before.
6. The sight and sound of construction work by the pool were the final straw. It was evident that the comfort and peace of guests were not a priority here.
7. When we tried to check out early, initially, the management claimed a refund was totally impossible. However, when I processed a request through Booking.com and informed them, they suddenly became compliant and first said that they could upgrade us to another room, but when we said that we just wanted a refund for some of the nights we wouldn't live there they were suddenly able to refund 3 of the 5 nights we checked out early..
