Premium stay at reasonable prices, recommended!

In one of the reviews, someone said it was a 5-star hotel at 4-star rates and I want to echo that statement. It's a very nice property with very nice staff and well-maintained grounds and amenities. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is nicely laid out across the length of the room. The mattress and bedding are comfortable and crisp, the water pressure is pleasant, and the AC works well and smells neutral. The adult pool is clean and cool, with a nice view of the "private beach".

The breakfast can definitely be improved, since we also tried the same restaurant for lunch and dinner. The breakfast options are limited and don't change, so it gets boring after the first day. The pool bar doesn't serve food or ice-cream (they said they had to bring it from upstairs and it takes more time) The location is a little out of the way and so you'll need to take a taxi into town (use grab, it's cheaper than hotel taxi). This can be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on the type of traveller you are. P.s. the hotel has a daily shuttle bus at 4 different times throughout the day.

The hotel is very nice , the breakfast was great. the hotel offers a shuttle to town that can drop and pick up which is great.

the room had a smell which could be a combination of humidity and timber. the mattress was slightly firm.

Disappointing

Not worth the price.

The villa we stayed in was really nice. At first we had a "Garden Pool Villa", but we found the garden to be very disappointing. It was small with a poor lawn and a sparse hedge surrounding it, and overlooked by a taller building directly to the side of it, so there was little privacy. Because of this, we upgraded to a "Villa - Beach Front", which had a much bigger garden, with a great view out to the sea, and a nice path at the end which winds through the back of the resort giving access to the pool and the beach. The villa itself is very comfortable and spacious. The staff overall were very warm and welcoming. Although we found the staff at the "Fin" bar to be slow, unmotivated and forgetful.

The overall aesthetic, layout and design of the resort left much to be desired. Despite this being a fairly new resort, it felt very old fashioned with no soul, character or charm. The food was rather poor, especially the breakfast buffet, which was very limited and unappetising. The wifi and internet connection is almost nonexistent. Our stay at The ShellSea Krabi was very disappointing, and I wish we had spent our time and money somewhere else.

Good but could be excellent with some work

The accommodation itself and grounds are excellent, the outdoors space was good. Front desk/reception/concierge staff were excellent and helpful and arranged transport for us swiftly.

The breakfast was very sub par. In general the food was poor. Staff at the restaurant were very poor, probably need some training. To the point theyd not acknowledge you or would make eye contact and walk way. It was slightly bizzare, considering the staff in the rest of the resort were lovely. It was chaotic trying to get a table, if the expectation was to come in and find your own seat at breakfast and help yourself to the buffet thats fine, but rather than letting people haphazardly figure it out themselves staff should probably say something. Getting a drink order was an absolute nightmare too, feels like this really needs work, but its a relatively simple fix. Because the resort is quite far from ao nang you need to get a taxi/grab expect about 20 mins to the centre. However, youd think this would be an opportunity for the restaurants to try and keep people in the resort but the food offering is just really poor.

Restaurant service was good

Woken 3 times for cleaning when have do not disturb on Toilet overflowed into the room Found sharp plastic in the chocolate brownie Could not enter our room because the door lock battery was flat Had to call 3 times to have laundry collected Boat tour booked at hotel - rude and bad service. Only one boat worker - not safe Had to wait 45 min for spa when booked ahead of time Room service order taker was rude Wrong order 3 times for room service - gave up because they couldn't understand English Overall the service was poor and generally could staff not understand English well.
