On arrival the key was not available and we could see it was not vacated and/or was in the process of being cleaned (could see through glass door cleaning products left out, mop by door, bottles of water on table, someone's medication on benchtop) and no-one around. Tried calling, went through to engaged signal. Sent email, no response. Tried calling again 3 more times using 61+ in front of number when finally someone answered. We were told we were in a different villa No 17 but no-one advised. Villa 17 was not cleaned properly, microwave not clean inside and outside. Tables (including bedside) had water marks on them and sand/salt on them. Sliding door to main ensuite not on rails, could not be closed more than half way.
So disappointing as we had stayed at the villa next to it beforehand owned by someone else and it was lovely. They provided a gift of bread/butter/jam from the region along with a bottle of wine. It was also very clean.
For the money charged to stay, they need to lift their game. I don't like giving such negative feedback but we were almost ready to drive back to Perth as we thought we had no accommodation when we could not contact someone initially.
Better luck next time as Dunsborough is a favourite destination.
