Parking. On arriving and parking into an empty parking space at the back of the hotel as instructed by phone and in on line hotel information, we were told by a less than competent receptionist that we couldnt park where we had as this was reserved for another guest. We pointed out that we were told by hotel staff by phone that it wasnt possible to reserve a parking space , and on a previous occasion we had parked as per instructions without any hassle. However, the receptionist insisted we move our car to an upstairs parking space in the building, which we did and found it to be very tight without any turning around space and cars parked so close to each other that it was with great difficulty only that one was able to get out of the car without damaging the car parked next door. When leaving the next day we had extreme difficulty trying to exit the parking space due to being hemmed in between a tightly parked car next to ours and a wall. After half an hour of trying we ended up with massive damage to the side of the car which will require extensive repair. None of this would have happened if the hotel had complied with their own instructions regarding parking or had offered us a parking space in the public car parking building right behind the hotel , which was also mentioned in their on line information . We realise that parking is at customers own risk, but the lack of consistency by hotel staff in complying with their own instructions has left us with major inconvenience and costs. We definitely would not recommend staying at this hotel ever again. I emailed the hotel on arriving home and advised them what had happened, but havent had a response.
