Best time for a staycation in Mauritius?

May to December (summer) is the best time to visit Mauritius, although the tropical climate of Mauritius is quite favorable for a vacation at any time of the year. The beaches are beautiful and sunny, and the waters are clear. January to March is the wet cyclone season in Mauritius and should be avoided. For diving, March-April is considered a very good season apart from October to December.

The temperature in Mauritius ranges from 25° C to 33° C in the summer months (December-April) whereas it ranges between 18°C to 23°C in the winter months (May-November). February is the warmest month of the year whereas July is the coldest month of the year in Mauritius, so make sure you pack accordingly if you’re traveling during these months. But the weather is never too cold or never too hot.

Hiking and other outdoor tours are better during the cooler months. For those who wish to spend a relaxing day on the beach as well as engage in enthralling water sports, the months of May till late October is the best time to travel to Mauritius. We do not recommend going to the east coast of Mauritius in July and August as the winds are the strongest during this time of the year.
