Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Guwahati to Shillong | Visit Umiam Lake (114.9 km, 3 hours)

Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and transfer to Shillong. En route, visit the stunning Umiam Lake (Borapani). Spend the evening at leisure exploring the Police Bazaar. Overnight stay in Shillong.

After breakfast, visit Laitlum Canyon, known as the amphitheater of Meghalaya. Proceed to Dawki Island on the Umngot River, where you can enjoy boating, kayaking, and zip lining (at your own cost). Visit the cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong, and the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Overnight stay in Mawlynnong.

After breakfast, explore Jowai's Phe Phe Falls and Krang Suri Waterfalls, which are considered one of India's most magical waterfalls. Afterward, visit the Garden of Caves and Arwa Caves, followed by the Seven Sisters Falls. Check into your hotel in Cherrapunji for an overnight stay.

Start the day with a trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge in Nongriat. Visit famous waterfalls, including Nohkalikai Falls, Dainthlen Falls, Wei-Sawdong Falls, and Wah-Kaba Falls. Enjoy the beauty of Cherrapunji’s natural landscapes and overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

After breakfast, visit Mawphlang Sacred Groves, a vital part of Khasi culture. Later, explore Shillong's famous spots, including Golf Links, Cathedral Church, Don Bosco Monument, Botanical Garden, Lady Hydari Park, and Ward’s Lake. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Check out of the hotel after Breakfast and prepare to transfer back to Guwahati. Visit Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can spot the famous one-horn Rhino. After that, head to your hotel and check in. Rest and reach for your Brahmaputra Dinner Cruise from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Head back to your hotel for your overnight stay in Guwahati.

Check out of the hotel and reach by 6 AM if you want to visit the Famous Kamakhya Temple (2-3 hours for Darshan in VIP Queue). Proceed to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station if your flight is in the Noon or return to your hotel if your flight is in the evening. You will then take on your return journey and bring this experience to an end.

What's Good: We were on 6N/7D trip to NE, tour was planned in short notice Monadipa was very instrumental in planing out our itinerary, whole team was always available during the trip on WhatsA (Read More)pp/ Phone call.
What's Not Good: We liked everything on trip specially the trekking part to Double decker root bridge and blue lagoon lil further from double decker bridge, lil tiring but will recommend every one in good health to cover up these destinations once in life time

What's Good: Well arranged by Hemant on the hotels, transportations and to the interesting places/temples. Very caring and with follow-up calls from time to time. Arranged very good drivers at (Read More) different locations. As foreigners, we feel very safe and homely travelling with Gateways Destination. Will definitely contact them again for my future travels and will also introduce GATEWAYS DESTINATION N to our friends and families. Thank You Hemant and your staff for the memorable trip.

What's Good: Everything was well organized. All stay options were good.
What's Not Good: Most of the places were dry in cheerapunji due to off season -Feb. And some places were closed (Read More). I would suggest to check this before going.

The sight of a rhino grazing peacefully amidst the tall elephant grass was breathtaking combined with exhilarating excitement of spotting the tiger Meghalaya, a stunning state in the northeastern region of India renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, lush greenery and vibrant culture. **Shillong:** Often called the "Scotland of the East" it offers picturesque views, rolling hills and vibrant colonial architecture. The scenic Shillong Peak provided stunning panoramas of the surrounding valleys. **Cherapunjee (Sohra):** The Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India is a breathtaking sight **Mawsmai Caves:** The Mawsmai Caves present a fascinating world of stalactites and stalagmites. ** Living Root Bridges:** The trek of 7000 steps to the double-decker root bridge is particularly famous and provides a unique experience as I walked across the bridge which continues to grow .**Dawki:** Dawki river features crystal-clear waters that reflect the sky, creating a mesmerizing view. Boating on this river is a truly ethereal experience and is on the border of India and Bangladesh and was able to traverse across and back .**Laitlum Canyons:** Stunning panoramic views of the lush green valleys below, the Laitlum Canyons are a hidden gem . The steep cliffs and rolling hills create an awe-inspiring landscape and an " Edge of the world" experience The diversity of flora and fauna across the trip was striking with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves creating a symphony of nature. The changing landscape offered breathtaking views at every turn with picturesque sunsets casting golden hues over the horizon and provided a magical backdrop for my adventure Since it was my first visit to Ma Kamakhya temple, it would have been better if i was briefed earlier on the entry .
