Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Nairobi & Leisure Time
  • Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), you will be transferred to the Sarova Panafric Hotel or Ole-Sereni Hotel (you can be upgraded to a five-star accommodation on request), where you will spend the night on a bed and breakfast basis.
  • Depending on when your flight arrives, the rest of the day is at leisure.
  • You can take a city walking tour in the evening.
  • An optional dinner at the carnivore restaurant.
  • Today, you will depart in the morning towards Amboseli, stopping off for lunch and game viewing. The view of Mt. Kilimanjaro is a sight not to be missed. Amboseli is famous for its unforgettable views of Kilimanjaro, a relaxed abundant population of elephants, and prolific bird life.
  • You will stay overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge on a full-board basis.
  • Today, you will rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit.
  • You will set off for another stimulating "spice" game drive.
  • Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from wildebeest to giraffes and baboons.
  • An optional visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast.
  • You will return to the lodge midday for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another extensive "spice" game drive.
  • Overnight stay at Amboseli.
  • After breakfast, head over to papyrus-fringed Lake Naivasha.
  • With over 400 species of bird, this freshwater lake is a birding Paradise. Along the lake’s fabled waters, we are bound to see some of the area’s more intriguing species—hippos, giraffes, buffalo and even the arboreal colobus monkey. Lake Naivasha lies in the Great Rift Valley and derives from the local Masai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms that can arise.
  • After lunch, visit Crescent island — a private sanctuary where you can walk beneath yellow-barked acacias (yellow fever trees) in search of giraffes, wildebeest, impala, dik-diks, Thompson's and grant’s gazelles, elands, waterbucks and countless bird species. Oh, and there are some rather gigantic pythons too! We are allowed to walk with the animals since all were introduced during the filming of Out of Africa.
  • An optional boat ride on the lake reveals many waterbird species and schools of Hippos.
  • Overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge
  • Depart for Maasai Mara after a scrumptious breakfast.
  • Arrive at Mara in time for lunch and game viewing en route to Mara Sopa lodge for lunch.
  • Afternoon game drive.
  • Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge (mid-range lodge bordering Maasai Mara National Reserve without fences)
  • Meals and drinks: Lunch, dinner (breakfast is not included), and drinking water (other drinks are not included).
  • Overnight at the Mara Sopa Lodge or Similar

  • You will search for wild game black manned lion, which Mara is famous for, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, grants gazelle are quite common, even the rare rhino might come out of the thicket for you, hyenas are also plentiful.
  • Extend your drive to the hippo point, where schools of hippos submerge on the approach of vehicles only to surface seconds later to shoot and gamble their displeasure as the crocodiles sunbathe on the river banks mouths agape.
  • Between meals, there is an optional visit to the Maasai Village for an insight into their culture if clients so wish.
  • Meals and overnight will be at Mara Sopa Lodge, a mid-range lodge bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve without fences.
