Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Colombo - Transfer to Anuradhapura - Temple Visit

On arrival at the airport, you will meet the Amara Lanka Tours representative.
Proceed to Anuradhapura.
On the way, visit Munneswaram Kovil and Manavari Kovil.
On arrival in Anuradhapura, check in to the hotel and relax.
In the evening, visit 8 ancient temples including Sri Maha Bodhi Temple (only if interested).
Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.

Day 2 Excursion to Trincomalee

After an early breakfast, proceed to Trincomalee.
Visit Sankari Devi Temple (Shakthi Peedam), hot springs for bathing, Sri Lakshmi Temple, and Trincomalee Harbor.
Return to the hotel.
Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.

Day 3 Visit Sigiriya Lion Rock - Transfer to Kandy

After breakfast, proceed to Kandy.
On the way, climb the Sigiriya Lion Rock.
Also, visit Cave Temple in Dambulla, and Muthu Mariamman Temple, Murgan Temple, and Spice Garden in Matale.
On arrival in Kandy, check in to the hotel.
In the evening, attend a cultural event presentation.
Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 4 Transfer to Nuwara Eliya - Visit Tea Plantation

After breakfast, proceed for a city tour of Kandy.
Visit Temple of Tooth Relic, Gem Museum, Arts & Crafts center, and Market Square.
Drive along Upper Lake.
Afterward, proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
En-route visit Tea Plantation/Tea Factory, Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, and Ramboda Waterfalls.
On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, check in to the hotel.
In the evening, visit Gayathri Peedam.
Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 5 City Tour of Nuwara Eliya - Transfer to Kataragama

After breakfast, proceed for a city tour of Nuwara Eliya.
Visit Hakgala Garden, Hill Club, Golf Course, Gregory Lake, and Market.
Afterward, proceed Kataragama.
En-route visit Ashok Vatika, Sita Devi Temple, Ravana Falls & Ravana Caves, and Divurumpola.
On arrival in Kataragama, check in to the hotel.
In the evening, Kataragama Temple (God Murgan Temple).
Overnight stay in Kataragama.

Day 6 Yala Safari - Madu River Jungle Boat Safari - Transfer to Colombo

In the morning, proceed to Yala Safari with a packed breakfast.
Return to the hotel.
Proceed to Colombo.
En-route visit Ussangoda and Sanjeewani.
Afterward, visit Galle.
Visit Galle Fort and Dutch Museum.
Enjoy Madu river jungle boat safari.
Also, visit Turtle Hatchery.
Afterward, continue the drive to Colombo.
On arrival in Colombo, check in to the hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 7 Colombo City Tour - Depart from Colombo - Tour Ends

After breakfast, proceed for a city tour of Colombo.
Visit Anjaneyar Temple, Galle Face, Light-House, BMICH, Town Hall, Seema Malaka, Beira Lake, and World Trade Center.
Afterward, you can go shopping in Colombo.
Later, proceed to the airport for your return flight.

What's Good: Their willingness to solve matters. Their effort in getting things right. We had lots of issues with their Sri Lankan counterpart which they couldn't solve at that time. But they d (Read More)id whatever they could. Also I appreciated the fact that they refunded the one day booking of our hotel which we didnt avail. That is a big job in the Tourism industry.
What's Not Good: Their Sri Lankan counterpart. My earnest request, change them. You guys seems to work so hard in making our journey comfortable. Why take the blame for some others mis management. You guys are great.

This is to thanks you for the excellent arrangements that made our Sri Lanka trip such a pleasure and satisfied all our expectations. It started with you, Upeksha responding promptly to our query, fo (Read More)llowed by properly understanding our requirements and then putting a plan in place, given that time was limited. Full marks to Ajith, our guide and driver, who was knowledgeable and proudly so about his country, Sri Lanka, and knew so many little details both about the drives as well as places that we visited, or were on the way. Thanks especially for arranging a wonderful guide to take us around Anuradhapura, visiting which was a dream-come-true for us. Also thanks to him for having the patience to drive us out of the way to Governor's Mansion near Hatton, which nevertheless turned out to be a wonderful place to enjoy views of Adam's Peak and the hills of the area. Overall, we have absolutely no complaints and can especially once again call out Ajith and Upeksha for making this trip a success and so enjoyable. Lastly, my wife, Priscilla (Kippy) Anne Jearey, who needs special care during such travel and sight-seeing, too traveled in comfort and is full of praise for the arrangements. Thanks once again to you and the entire team.

What's Good: Communication was spot on from day 1. Mr. Zaheen has excellent communication skills and was ever-ready to answer all our questions no matter how trivial. 2. He was extremely poli (Read More)te and courteous and explained in detail, our iteniary and suggested changes wherever necessary. 3. Very well connected in Srilanka and offered us the best chauffeur and very comfortable travel during the course of our trip. 4. Zaheen makes it a point to meet with all his clients and this is a very good thing in my opinion as it makes us feel all the more special and adds just that personal touch. 5. He also made it a point to keep in touch with us during the whole trip asking if we were comfortable throughout he journey. 6. Hotels were decent at most places including a good spread of items on the menu. 7. Overall Tourbirds and Mr.Zaheen in particular offered us the very best service and thanks to him, we take back very fond memories of this place, back to India. Keep up the great work your are doing and we definitely hope to be back and we would gladly recommend your tours to our friends and family. Cheers! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Star Rating for Zaheen and team)
What's Not Good: As any great travel agency, there are always areas where one can improve and I appreciate that Tourbirds and Zaheen take feedback constructively and work on ways to improve. 1. One issue we had with our hotel at Mirissa ( Mandara Resort) was that there was no lift facility and we were alloted a room on the 2nd floor, making it very difficult for my aged mom to travel up and down. Please be more mindful of this the next time. 2. The gala dinner which we looked forward too had absolutely nothing on the menu for vegetarians at our Hotel in Colombo.( Hotel MaRadha).We literally had just fruits for dinner that day and it was not just us but a lot of other guest who were complaining about the limited menu for vegetarians . Please ensure that you give feedback about this to the hotel. 3. Also Driver accomodation should be looked into more seriously, as some of the hotels lacked in basic amenities and hygiene. At Colombo, the hotel did not have a facility for drivers to camp the night and hence our driver had to find a room 8-9 kms away from the Hotel.

With that we are able to visit temples, historical places, wildlife safari, beaches and also our relative which we had never met for a long time. This was a memorable and heartwarming trip for all of us. Not forgetting the driver Mr. Prasad and his assistant Mr. Eroshan. Both are so kind and helpful. They were with us all the time throughout the trip like a family. We were all so grateful to have them around. I will definitely use this travel agent again for my next trip.
