Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 COLOMBO ARRIVAL

Arrive at Colombo airport and transfer to your hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure
Visit a local market or head to the beach for an evening stroll.
Overnight at your hotel in Colombo.

Day 2 COLOMBO TO SIGIRIYA BY ROAD (APPROX 04 HRS)

Breakfast at the hotel then transfers to Habarana by road.
Enroute, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
On arrival in Habarana, check in at your hotel.
Habarana is the gateway to Sigiriya, known for its Rock Fortress on a lofty perch – you visit this tomorrow.
Overnight at your hotel in Habarana.

Day 3 ARRIVAL IN COLOMBO

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Rock Fortress in Sigiriya - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The 5th-century‘ Fortress in the Sky’ boasts a triple-moated defence, and the huge rock rises almost 500 feet.
Thereafter experience the thrill of a Jeep safari at the Minneriya National park.
During the safari, you can spot a herd of wild Asian elephants.
Return to your hotel for some well-deserved rest.
Overnight stay at your hotel in Habarana.

Day 4 COLOMBO TO SIGIRIYA BY ROAD

After breakfast, proceed to Kandy by road.
Enroute, visit Dambulla Rock Temple - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Also, visit a Spice Garden in Matale.
On arrival in Kandy, check in at your hotel.
Rest of the evening at leisure.
Overnight at your hotel in Kandy.

Day 5 KANDY - BUDDHA'S TOOTH TEMPLE

After breakfast, visit the sacred Temple of the (Buddha’s) Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show.
Rest of the day at leisure, perhaps browse at a local market.
Later witness a cultural show with vibrant costumes and pulsating rhythms of traditional dance forms.
Overnight at your hotel in Kandy.

Day 6 HABARANA (SIGIRIYA) – MATALE – KANDY

After breakfast proceeds to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya and enjoys cooler weather.
Enroute, visit Ramboda waterfalls and sample tea at a tea factory located amidst lush tea gardens.
On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, check-in for an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 7 NUWARA ELIYA TO YALA BY ROAD (APPROX 04 HRS)

After breakfast, proceed to Yala, known for its wildlife national park.
Enroute pass through Ella - a quiet hill country town that draws visitors to its cool climate and its picturesque setting amidst mountains. The towering mass of Ella Rock presides regally over the area, and the mountain pass known as Ella Gap offers spectacular views right across the distant valleys all the way to the South Coast.
Continue onto Yala and, on arrival check-in at the hotel.
Overnight at your hotel in Yala.

Day 8 YALA SAFARI - TO BENTOTA BY ROAD (APPROX 04.5 HRS)

Morning Safari in a 4WD vehicle at the Yala National Park (0530 AM – 0930 AM).
Located near the Indian Ocean, Yala National Park is a haven for indigenous and migrant Fauna. This park is famous for its Elephants, Leopards, Bears, and Crocodiles. Plus, near the water bodies, one can see a variety of bird species, including Flamingoes, Pelicans, Spoonbills, Cormorants, and Herons. Peacocks and Wild Buffaloes are a common sight.
After the exciting safari, return back to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, proceed to Bentota / Beruwala by road.
On arrival in the beach town of Bentota (Beruwala), check in at your resort for an overnight stay.

Day 9 BENTOTA - OPTIONAL TOURS

After breakfast, there is an option to visit a Turtle Hatchery or go for a wildlife-watching boat trip on the Madu River.
Else choose to chill at your resort and sip tropical cocktails by the beach.
Overnight at your resort in Bentota/Beruwala.

Day 10 BENTOTA - BEACH

After breakfast, rest of the day at leisure.
Do what you like – perhaps get a suntan while snoozing by the beach.
Overnight at your resort in Bentota / Beruwala.

Day 11 BENTOTA – COLOMBO AIRPORT DEPARTURE (APPROX 03 HRS)

After breakfast, checkout & proceed to Colombo.
Optional city tour of Colombo - See the old Parliament, BMICH, and visit Fort Bazaar.
After the tour, head to the airport in time to catch your return flight.

What's Good: Their willingness to solve matters. Their effort in getting things right. We had lots of issues with their Sri Lankan counterpart which they couldn't solve at that time. But they d (Read More)id whatever they could. Also I appreciated the fact that they refunded the one day booking of our hotel which we didnt avail. That is a big job in the Tourism industry.
What's Not Good: Their Sri Lankan counterpart. My earnest request, change them. You guys seems to work so hard in making our journey comfortable. Why take the blame for some others mis management. You guys are great.

This is to thanks you for the excellent arrangements that made our Sri Lanka trip such a pleasure and satisfied all our expectations. It started with you, Upeksha responding promptly to our query, fo (Read More)llowed by properly understanding our requirements and then putting a plan in place, given that time was limited. Full marks to Ajith, our guide and driver, who was knowledgeable and proudly so about his country, Sri Lanka, and knew so many little details both about the drives as well as places that we visited, or were on the way. Thanks especially for arranging a wonderful guide to take us around Anuradhapura, visiting which was a dream-come-true for us. Also thanks to him for having the patience to drive us out of the way to Governor's Mansion near Hatton, which nevertheless turned out to be a wonderful place to enjoy views of Adam's Peak and the hills of the area. Overall, we have absolutely no complaints and can especially once again call out Ajith and Upeksha for making this trip a success and so enjoyable. Lastly, my wife, Priscilla (Kippy) Anne Jearey, who needs special care during such travel and sight-seeing, too traveled in comfort and is full of praise for the arrangements. Thanks once again to you and the entire team.

What's Good: Communication was spot on from day 1. Mr. Zaheen has excellent communication skills and was ever-ready to answer all our questions no matter how trivial. 2. He was extremely poli (Read More)te and courteous and explained in detail, our iteniary and suggested changes wherever necessary. 3. Very well connected in Srilanka and offered us the best chauffeur and very comfortable travel during the course of our trip. 4. Zaheen makes it a point to meet with all his clients and this is a very good thing in my opinion as it makes us feel all the more special and adds just that personal touch. 5. He also made it a point to keep in touch with us during the whole trip asking if we were comfortable throughout he journey. 6. Hotels were decent at most places including a good spread of items on the menu. 7. Overall Tourbirds and Mr.Zaheen in particular offered us the very best service and thanks to him, we take back very fond memories of this place, back to India. Keep up the great work your are doing and we definitely hope to be back and we would gladly recommend your tours to our friends and family. Cheers! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Star Rating for Zaheen and team)
What's Not Good: As any great travel agency, there are always areas where one can improve and I appreciate that Tourbirds and Zaheen take feedback constructively and work on ways to improve. 1. One issue we had with our hotel at Mirissa ( Mandara Resort) was that there was no lift facility and we were alloted a room on the 2nd floor, making it very difficult for my aged mom to travel up and down. Please be more mindful of this the next time. 2. The gala dinner which we looked forward too had absolutely nothing on the menu for vegetarians at our Hotel in Colombo.( Hotel MaRadha).We literally had just fruits for dinner that day and it was not just us but a lot of other guest who were complaining about the limited menu for vegetarians . Please ensure that you give feedback about this to the hotel. 3. Also Driver accomodation should be looked into more seriously, as some of the hotels lacked in basic amenities and hygiene. At Colombo, the hotel did not have a facility for drivers to camp the night and hence our driver had to find a room 8-9 kms away from the Hotel.

With that we are able to visit temples, historical places, wildlife safari, beaches and also our relative which we had never met for a long time. This was a memorable and heartwarming trip for all of us. Not forgetting the driver Mr. Prasad and his assistant Mr. Eroshan. Both are so kind and helpful. They were with us all the time throughout the trip like a family. We were all so grateful to have them around. I will definitely use this travel agent again for my next trip.
