Indians are required to have a visa to travel to Egypt. This visa can be obtained either in the form of an E-visa or a sticker visa. For E-visa, Indians can apply online; however, it can only be applied if you have your tour planned through an Egyptian Travel Agent.
Egypt Sticker Visa
An Indian needs to apply for an Egypt sticker visa at the Egypt Embassy in India, either in New Delhi or Mumbai. The visa is usually applied for as a single-entry(valid for 90 days) or multiple-entry visa.
Egypt E-Visa
Indians who take tour packages from Egyptian Agencies can apply for an E-visa. They will need to present a guarantee letter from an authorized travel agent during immigration. E-visa can also be applied for single(valid for 90 days) or multiple entries.
How to Apply for Egypt Sticker Visa
Step 1: Visit the Egyptian Embassy's Official Facebook Page “https://www.facebook.com/EgyptinIndia/” and download a visa application form.
Step 2: Submit the duly filled application form with supporting documents physically at the counter outside the Egypt Embassy in New Delhi or Mumbai. Pay the visa fee in cash and collect the receipt. Wait for the intimation on visa arrival and pick up the passport from the embassy.
Note: Taking the help of visa agencies is advisable for a smoother and faster visa process.
How to Apply for Egypt E-visa
Step 1: Visit "https://visa2egypt.gov.eg/" to sign up and verify your email.
Step 2: Sign in, select “Apply Now” and fill out the visa application form.
Step 3: A pop-up regarding presenting a guarantee letter from a tour agent during immigration will appear on the second page. Click OK.
Step 4: Pay the visa fee online and wait for e-mail intimation regarding the decision for e-visa.
Documents Required for Egypt Visa for Indians
- A filled and signed visa application form.
- An original passport valid for at least six months with at least two blank pages.
- Photocopy of first and last page of the passport.
- Two passport-size photos (35mm x 45mm) taken within the last three months with a white background.
- A cover letter and a detailed itinerary, mentioning hotel and transfer reservations, or a guarantee/invitation letter from an Egyptian local.
-If applying from Delhi, address the letter to: The Visa Officer, Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, New Delhi.
-If applying from Mumbai, address the letter to: the Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mumbai. - A bank statement for the last six months, signed and sealed.
- Confirmed return air ticket along with hotel booking details
- Proofs of internal transfers
Visa Costs
The cost of a single-entry visa to Egypt for Indians is INR 2700, which is to be paid in cash when submitting the application physically at the Egyptian Embassy or online when applying for an E-visa. For multiple entries, it is INR 5800.
