How does it work?
Every table has a digital tablet wherein you manually select the dishes you want to order. The dishes will then be presented to you in a mannerly order by a robot assigned to serve you. With great discipline and demure, the robot has its path digitally marked out to deliver to the right table with food orderly arranged on a tray. It takes the robots 10-15 seconds to get to the tables. During the pilot run, the diners were left awestruck.
The Robot Restaurant finder, Venkatesh Rajendaran, thought that IT metropolitan Bengaluru was the obvious next choice for this business after he comprehensively launched it in his native Chennai and Coimbatore. His 2017's storm success led him to carry forward the legacy of this restaurant. He is sure that the mighty Bengaluru will deliver the same euphoria as the others.
To further assert its triumph, an advanced Android Robot has been stationed at reception to guide the restaurateurs to the vacant tables and answering their queries. 'Customer is King' is the motto and that's how the robots were programmed, keeping customisation supreme.
What is amusing is that on Saturday, every robot was assigned a scarf and a name, ranging from Harini to Shikha, Janja to Yashwini (which are customisable). They rolled on the magnetic sensor mats through the restaurant, trooped in and out, circling around the dining spaces.
Considering the dynamic names assigned, the restaurateurs who drove in on Saturday harboured an idea to take it one notch higher. "We plan to have contests for best names,” chipped in Kailash Sunder Rajan, general manager, franchise operations. Sounds exciting, right?
The android robots who are all set to attend to massive crowds have already been designed for next level customisation. Equipped with face recognition, she can greet you by your name on your next visit. Of course, she will do that only with your permission,” said Rajan, bushing aside privacy concerns.
What stands exclusive of other such restaurants is the stationing of Mini trains on side-tracks.The diners marveled when the soups and starters came chugging in on tracks at arm’s length from the table. The Robot Restaurant always leaves you amazed on the first experience.
