Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, announced visa-free entry for Chinese and Indian tourists to South America during an official visit to China.
President Bolsonaro had earlier announced a drop in visa requirements for quite a few developed countries. But during his recent visit to China, he made an official statement for Indian and Chinese visa-requirements. This is the first announcement he has made regarding policy expansion to the developing world.
Political Developments and Tourism
Soon after the far-right politician, Bolsonaro came to power earlier this year; the Brazilian government announced ending visa requirements for the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia for both business travellers as well as tourists. However, the visa requirements have not been dropped in these countries for Brazil.
