The city of Adana is situated on the banks of the Seyhan River, around 35 kms from the northeastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Housing vast Cilician Plains, Adana is the fourth largest and one of the most populous places in Turkey. It is not a major tourist location in Turkey, but it is frequented by tourists on extended vacations in the country.
The city of Adana is divided into two halves, the cottage core historical center, and to its north is the Kuzey Adana or Yeni Adana, the New Adana with urban skyscrapers and buildings. Many traditional baths and saunas exist in the downtown region and are visited by tourists and locals alike. The Stone Bridge of Adana is one of the most visited places in Adana, besides the Central Park and Adana Sabanc› Central Mosque. Moreover, Adana is a great pit stop for visiting the ancient cities of Turkey like Magarsus, Ayas, Commana, Castabala, and Misis.
