I am a huge fascinator of history and its forts which is why Alibag completely mesmerized me. Every fort here holds a saga to recite through its wall art, structure and storytelling by people. The mu (Read More)st visit forts are Janjira, Kolaba and Korlai fort. For others, Alibag beach is pleasant for eyes with reasonable budget that pleases one?s mind.

Alibag is a quick weekend getaway located less than 150 kms from Mumbai and is easily accessible by a three-hour car journey or one-hour ferry journey. Alibag Beach, the most commercial area in the t (Read More)own, has black sand and rock faces that make it a scenic location along with the new addition of water sports like jetskis and boating. Another site worth seeing is Janjira Fort which is known for its big canons, secret tunnels, and rounded bastions that are still intact. It is recommended to spend at least one night in Alibag and enjoy the many cottage accommodations on offer.

Alibaug is the most popular weekend beach destination from Mumbai and Pune. It is well-connected by roads, railways, buses, and there is also a one-hour ferry ride from the Gateway of India. Visit th (Read More)e Colaba Fort, which is accessible during low tide. Akshi and Nagaon located towards Murud Janjira and is about 7 kms from Alibaug bus stand. Kihim and Mandwa are located towards the northern side and are the most convenient beaches to reach if you are traveling by the ferry. Alibaug beach is primarily a black sand beach and has a lot of rocky stretches giving it a romantic air especially during susets with the Colaba fort looming in the horizon. There are also a lot of water sports like paragliding and jet-skiing. Opt to stay at farmhouses and cottages for an easy experience. Stay hydrated and don?t go too far out in the sea alone as it can become suddenly deep and dangerous.
